Warm sunshine touched the grave, this was my sixth year being dead...it's just a calm and peaceful place of serenity. I heard the birds chirping far away, Hold on- I can hear? I must be dreaming, I'm dead! How can I hear? The birds flew nearer until they were right beside by gravestone and they sang loudly in the breeze, a raindrop hit the rough surface and dampened the dry, dusty forgotten slate. My eyes suddenly fluttered open heavily, Huh? My eyes adjusted quickly to the sudden flow of light after years of darkness. What's going on? Is this...heaven? I sat up wearily and coughed while waving away the cement, fallen leaves and dust. All around me surrounded by thousands of other tombstones, I wondered what day it was, and why I was back here. Standing up cautiously, slowly scurried towards the main path leading to a probable village - there was a sign written in hangul that read 북촌한옥마을 (bukchon hanok). I remember! This village is where I grew up and also the place of my demise...Does that mean I'm alive now? Wow, six years and not much of a difference I thought as I walked into the pound of houses. Blurred faces stared awkwardly and children pointed, parents gaped in shock, maybe something was wrong with me. Perhaps I had a big pimple on my face, Ew. Soon I arrived at the heart of the village where a large lake spread across, hurrying towards it, more heads turned in my direction and a group of teenagers laughed. Oh no. I scampered to the lake to look at my reflection and once my eyes landed on my mirrored image, my heart skipped a beat. I was...flawless, I looked so beautiful, was this even me? The reflection had a perfect tall nose, big brown eyes and full pink lips, she had straight dark hair and even a mellow rose blush. This isn't the Eun-Ji I remembered, the Eun-Ji I remembered had thick black framed glasses, spotted acne and messy brown hair! Aigoo!!
