Chapter 13..

Looks like I didn't need to cause the scene this time..

We were shocked to be hearing Miss Rose making the commotion, as she dragged Ella by the arm. Confusion and annoyance was prominent in her eyes when we was getting dragged.. It takes a lot to get Miss Rose to be this angry. She yelled out to one of the other daycare staff to man the front desk, take care of the line of concerned and furious parents. Miss Rose passed by the three of us with an annoyed look, not even bothering to look at us when she said. 

"Come with me, you three.. We need to have a.. discussion.. about the events that have happened here today.." She said, her tone was cold and condescending. I shivered in fear and anxiousness, even Annie and Vanessa looked nervous. We quickly followed Miss rose to the staff offices of the daycare. Normally this place would be empty, except for miss rose in her office, since most, if not all the staff would be outside helping. She pulled Ella to the side, making her sit down on one of the office chairs. It was clear that Ella was in trouble.. Big time.. Though, Ella didn't even seem too bothered. Miss Rose turned over to us, as she demanded. 

"Now.. Tell me what happened. I was only able to see the tail end of the situation earlier, but I overheard what Y/n had said about Ella, And the situation she might have caused. Now, Harassment of other workers is already a violation, But I would like to hear from you three. What had caused the sudden crowd back at the daycare? And was was with all the yelling?" Concern and sternness was emanating from Miss Rose.

Miss Vanessa stepped up, after clearing her throat. Surprisingly, she kept calm as she tried to recall the incident. "I was approached by the victim's sister, practically bawling and panicking at the time. So I calmed her down, and she told me about the woman. The child was begging me to help her sister, saying that the woman was making false claims of being their mother. So I went to approach the woman and the victim." She sighed before continuing. 

"Once I approached the woman, It was clear that she was up to no good. The victim was struggling to get out of her grasp, and crying out for someone to help her. I tried to talk to the woman, and clear up the situation without making a scene-" She said before I blurted out, not realizing I was talking out loud.

"clearly a scene was made-" I mumbled, annoyed by the situation. Annie was quick to slap me on the arm, and tell me off for cutting off Miss Vanessa. The two managers looked at me with concern, but I just looked away. Annie, held my hand, still trying to calm me down. 

"Anyways.." Vanessa continued on. The more she explained the situation, the more agitated I became. It was getting harder to calm my mind, Annie soon taking notice. Miss Rose was calm, but her eerie cold stare was still prominent. "Alright. Now, I want to hear your side of the story, Ella.. You are supposed to be on desk shift today, are you not? How can this mess up have happened?" She said as she turned to Ella, who was back to scrolling on her phone. She clearly wasn't paying attention again, as Miss Rose had to call her once more before she took notice. 

"Well?" Miss rose raised her eyebrow, as she grew restless. "See, that woman earlier had the same credentials as the child's parent. I didn't question it and just gave the child to her. I was doing my job-" Ella blurted out, not even looking up from her phone. I snapped, eyes widening as my rage busted out.

"DOING YOUR JOB?! DID YOU EVEN THINK TO LOOK IF THE WOMAN LOOKED THE SAME AS THE ONE IN THE ID?! DID YOU EVEN STOP TO THINK THAT MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THE PARENT'S ID WAS STOLEN? THEY WERE SO OBVIOUSLY TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE!" I yelled out, as Annie was quick to restrain me once again. Ella jumped back in shock. She looked at me, before giving me a smug smile. 

"oh yea? And how would you have known that? Its not like you know the kids parents personally. Stop being such a smartass and calm down." She had the audacity to chuckle..

"OH MY FUCKING GOD, DO YOU NOT SEE THE SITUATION?! A CHILD COULDVE BEEN ABDUCTED BECAUSE OF YOU! MAYBE IF YOU HAD DONE YOUR JOB, LIKE THE REST OF US, YOU WOULDVE KNOWN THAT THE CHILD IN QUESTION WAS A REGULAR, AND GO TO OUR DAYCARE DAILY. OF COURSE THE WHOLE STAFF KNEW WHO THEIR PARENTS WERE! BUT I GUESS YOU WERE TOO STUBBORN AND CARELESS TO EVEN CHECK THE ID TO SEE IF THEY WERE THE SAME!!" I yelled out in frustration, tears were clearly starting to boil over. She only stared at me with annoyance. Meanwhile, Miss vanessa and Miss Rose stood back in shock, not knowing what to say in this situation.

"Calm down~ It's not like the child ACTUALLY got abducted, right? Everything's fine, and you're making a fuss out of nothing~" Ella sighed out, as she laid back on her seat.

I couldn't take it anymore... I broke free from Annie's grasp, as I marched towards Ella. It took a second for her to realize what was going on, before she looked at me rushing over to her. I could see the fear and shock in her eyes, as I slapped her on the face. My hand fell numb, as a mark was made on her face... red and numb... I looked down on her as I stared into her soul, My tears falling from my face, as I made no expression. Like an emotionless husk.. I could see the fright in her eyes.. Annie and Vanessa came back to restrain me.

 I continued to stare at her, my tone was cold and condescending.. "You just don't get it, do you..? we could've easily reported you for harassing the rest of us, But no. I told them not to, do you know why? Because I thought that you had maybe, even just a tiny bit, of good in you... but after today? It's clear you don't give a shit about anything or anyone. What if we weren't there in time, huh? WHAT IF WE WERE TOO LATE AND WE WERENT ABLE TO GET THE KID TO SAFETY?! HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN THAT TO THE PARENT?!"

She was scared. She never saw me this angry before, and she was scared. She stayed in her seat, quiet, whilst staring at me in fear, rubbing the bruise on her face. Miss rose turned to Ella, the same angered and cold expression, but she knew how to act calm.

 "Ella.. My office, At once..." She stated. Ella was quick to follow her order, as she rushed into Miss Rose's office. She then turned to me, giving me an empathetic smile.

 "That's enough, Y/n.. You did your part, and I am thankful for that. You can go ahead and take the rest of the day off, alright? I'll get this situation with Ella all sorted out. You... You need a break.." Miss rose smiled weakly, as she walked into her office and closed the door behind her. 

Annie then released me, as I fell to my knees. I felt like a husk of my emotions, I was overwhelmed.. I could see Annie, rushing up Infront of me.. She looked worried, and she was saying something... But I couldn't hear her... I felt lightheaded, As my vision began to blur.. Soon enough, everything went black..
