A Few Months after The Winter Festival.

Scott and Joel walked Up the Stairs to Scotts Room finally dismissed from their royal duties  of sitting at a table and listening to their parents talk about trades. In the past few Month Joel and Scott have been able to bond over their shared love of architecture. Scott was happy to be on Joels good side it made being able to hang out with jimmy easier. Joel was happy to talk to someone about building that actually understood what he was saying.

"So, Joel, I wanted to ask you a few questions." Scott Paused as he got to the top.

"About what Scotty?" Joel Stopped Next to him.

"I have been thinking about when we First met a few month ago." Scott started down the hall.

"Oh Crap, I still Need to give you that book back." Joel Followed Behind.

"No, It's not about the book. It's about you." Scott Went into his Room and sat on his bed patted it to tell Joel to sit down next to him.

"Did I do something wrong?"

"No, Not to me. When we First met Jimmy told me about once you almost hit him."

"Oh, Does this connect to last week? Fwhip started it when he called Jimmy Dumb."

"Yes, that's it. You seem very protective of him, why?"

"Why do you want to know?" Joel crossed his arm.

"Why couldn't you tell me?"

"I don't know, it's just personal ok."

Uhm Scott started thinking of why Joel could be so... wait did Joel Like Jimmy too?

"Ok moving on, why did Jimmy tell you about the time I almost got in a fight with him?" Joel Looked a bit worried.

"Oh, that was him trying to explain how you were a bit quick to rage."

"So?" Joel raised his voice.

"But the point Jimmy was making was that you have gotten better." Scott quickly spat.

"Oh, How nice of him." Joel's tone returned to normal.

How can a human be so scary? Scott's mind turned.

"Now I want to ask you a question, Scott. What's the deal with you and lizzie?" Joel Turned to fully face Scott.

"What? What about Lizzie."

"You two have been hanging out a lot." Joel's arms crossed.

Uh oh Scott thought.

"Oh she has been over trying to make an official alliance with my parent's. When they are done she hangs out with me for a bit." Scott told the truth. He just left out the details of Lizzie being the only ones that he could hold an adult conversation with.

Joel nodded but he didn't seem so sure of this answer.

"So anyway, Over the next year my father plans to build more houses, due to a population boom.  He asked me to design some houses. I am just with plans right now. I was wondering if you would take a look at the layout?"

"Oh sure."

********

Scott and Joel Headed down to Scotts study.

"I am telling you, it would look better with some cooler tones." Scott pointed to one of his many color strips.

"I am telling you, I am not saying no I am saying a dark blue house is a bad idea in a mesa." Joel laughed.

"But you're right, Maybe I could add some stone and dark green. Which is pretty and strong" Joel wrote a note down.

"So Joel, have you heard anything about The Harvest Ball?" Scott asked. Joel Looked up from his notes.

"Yes I have, It's pretty cool." Joel cracked a smile.

"What are you smiling about?"

"Oh I was just thinking of asking someone to go with me, maybe as more than friends." Joel Blushed Slightly.

"Oh my God, Who!?" Scott stood up.

"I'm not saying more than that Scott."

"I am planning on asking someone out. I'll tell you who I am asking if you tell me who you are." Scott said jokingly.

"Nope." Joel shook his head.

"Can I at least guess? 20 questions?"

"10 questions and I get to ask you 10 questions." Joel put his hands on the table.

"Deal."

Scott started to ask questions.

" Would you say this person is tall?"

"Yes, Is your person tall?" Joel rolled his eyes.

"Compared to you, very."

"Hey!"

"Shh, my turn. Is your person an only Child."

"Yes, is yours?"

"Yep as well. What is the thing you like most about your person? Looks wise."

"Well I like my person's deep yet sparkly eyes." Joel had a dreamy look in his eyes.

"You want me to answer the same question back?" Scott asked, Joel nodded.

"Well For my person I like their fluffy hair and how it shines in the light." Scott looked down and Smiled.

"Ok Scott, I have a question. If you put this person into one word for everything about them, what would that word be?"

"The first thing that comes to mind is Bubbly." Scott said. Hearing this Joel's demeanor darkened a lot.

"Funny I was going to say the same thing." Joel Glaze narrowed.

"Oh? Why would you say that?" Scotts Tone changed to match Joels. Jimmy had warned him not to do this, yet Scott couldn't help himself.

"Well, My Person Is very happy and just brings a lot of life to the room. Also Their Empire is surrounded by a lot of water." Joel sat up more. Scott Did the same.

"I had the same reasoning."

"You Don't think that we are talking about the same person?" Joel's voice was mad.

"I think we are." Scott said coldly.

Both Princes glared at each other not saying a word.

Oh I knew he liked jimmy and that's why he is so protective. Scott thought to himself

I should have known he had a thing for Lizzie. I mean who wouldn't? Joel pondered

"Well I Guess that makes us rivals for the time being, doesn't it Scott?" Joel broke the silence.

"I Do believe it does Joel." Both Princes stood up closely glaring at each other.

Then there was a knock at the door. They broke the stare and turned to the door.

"Come in." Scott Called out. A servant of Mezalea entered.

"Hello your Highnesses. Prince Joel the king has asked me to come get you, We are leaving."

"Thank you." Joel said and then turned to Scott.

"May the best get the date." Joel Smirked and turned to go with the servant.

"It's on Joel." Scott called out after. Joel Turned back.

"You're right it's on."

Joel and the servant left, leaving Scott with a feeling of dread. Scott quickly regretted challenging Joel, as he clearly had the upper hand. Scott also started to feel a bit sad knowing this fight for the date, would end badly for their friendship.
