CHAPTER ONE
•WE MEET AGAIN•

"Those are pretty don't you think?" My bestfriends sister, Nadia, asked. I shrugged. "I don't think they go with the other flowers though." I like yellow flowers and blue flowers, pink flowers. All of them were pale too. "Actually, the dark crimson red would go well with it all. The contrast between all the pale colors and then that pop." I said.

Nadia nodded, agreeing with me. I had remembered why I thought that. Ever been in love? I have, it was so beautiful. High school sweethearts we were. Everyday she would bring me all pastel colored flowers and always have a red rose in the middle.

Every single day. It's why I loved flowers so much. I remembered the very first time she did bring me them.

I had texted Evangeline to come over, it was going to be the first time we had hung out. I was so excited for her to come over, I did ask my best friend Mavis what she thinks I should do when we do hang out which is just watch a movie and try to get closer to her.

Evangeline and I have been talking for quite sometime. We had been on three dates so far, and I already met her parents. Only because when I was over her house her parents were there.

She knocked one door and I opened it. She had beautiful flowers in her hand, yellow, pink, blue and green and a bright red on in the center. "Hi." I smiled, she smiled back.

"Hi." She said. "Is there a reason why there's a red flower that doesn't match the other colors in the center?" I asked, tilting my head. "You always need a different flower right? All of these beautiful flowers need diversity. They're all the same pale ones." She shrugged.

After that, that's how I pick my flowers. I tried to stop doing it, but I just couldn't help it. She fell off the face of the earth right after we graduated. From our freshmen year of high school to senior year, we dated. And she left, no goodbye, no messages, no letter. Nothing.

I lived with that for the rest of my life and hadn't dated anyone ever since. She was the first love of my life and I never thought anyone could compare to her. She always made me feel good and amazing about myself.

It's not that someone else couldn't do that same, because they could. But her being with me felt amazing, a feeling I couldn't explain.

Nadia and I walked around the flower shop some more before leaving it. Mavis was in surgery right now so we wanted to get her some gifts. She was getting a Breast reduction so we wanted the cards and gifts to be little jokes.

"You think she'll like this?" Nadia asked, she held up a shirt that had a boob joke on it and I laughed. "Of course she will. We better head back soon, she'll probably get done by the time we get back." She nodded and we bought the shirt.

Heading back to the hospital, there were police cars, officers, nurses, doctors, all running out of there way to help people. As we headed up to Mavis' room number, I saw two people, a man and a woman, sitting next to one another.

Both of them annoyed. The woman looked as if she was ready to scream her head off or rip someone's head off herself. The man looked nervous but kept a straight face. That woman looked so familiar but I didn't say anything.

I kept walking, sighing as we got into the elevator. "Sorrows, sorrows, prayers." Nadia said in a British accent. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the flowers from her. She pouted and grabbed the shirts from me.

The elevator stopped closing all of a sudden because someone stuck there hand in it. It opened and it revealed the woman who was sitting down. Nadia and I both have a polite smile and made way for her. It was a bit silent before the woman looked at me and spoke up.

"Nice flower combination." She said, pointing over at the flowers. "Thanks." I said back, once again silence took place. "I used to...I used to do that to my flowers all the time." She spoke up, I raised my eyebrows. "Really? That's nice to know." I said.

She hummed. "My friends think I'm weird for it, I just like how the red is different from the rest of them." I looked up at her, and smiled, nodding. "That's what I think as well." I told her, why does she look so fucking familiar is my question.

"You went to Kingston high school right?" She asked me first, my eyes widened. "Yes actually, I was just about to ask you that!" I said, I glanced at Nadia who's eyes were widened as well. "Yes I did! You don't happen to go by the name Cecilia Ida?" She asked.

I nodded again. "And I'm assuming you are Evangeline?" I asked. She was here. The woman I gave my whole life to until she left. It was amazing seeing how different she looked.

In high school, she definitely didn't look the way she looks now. Nadia could tell too. "Nadia I presume?" She asked, Nadia nodded her head fast.

"Yo-you look amazing." I said, looking her up and down. Evangeline chuckled, oh my fuck it was never like that. "You look absolutely gorgeous as you always were." She smiled at me.

I thanked her and the elevator doors opened. "I'll walk with you guys." She said, she followed us out and we talked more. "It's been so long, how've you been?" She asked.

"I've been great! I'm a realtor, I have been for four years now." I smiled, she nodded. "Oh right, what about you dreams of designing houses?" She asked me and I smirked. "I design them and sell them."

She chuckled. "Of course." She said. "And what about you?" I asked her. "I am just here and there, I have a business." She said, shrugging. "Ten of them."

My eyes widened. "Are you fucking kidding?! That's awesome!" She had been talking about owning businesses for so long. "Thank you." Nadia came to a stop and so did I seeing as Mavis' room was right in front of us. "This is us." I smiled.

"It was amazing seeing you." She told me. "Maybe you'd like to catch up some time soon?" She asked, I nodded small. "Well here's my number, text me when and wherever you want to meet up." She said, handing me her card.

We hugged, me on my tippy toes because she grew. "Of course." I said. We pulled apart and she left, waving at me one more time. "What are the fucking chances you run into your high school sweet heart ex?!" Nadia asked, whispering as we walked into Mavis' room.

She was still sleeping but that was to be expected. "I know, I didn't expect it at all." I told her, I set the flowers down, sitting down next to the bed.

I looked at the card, it had her name on it, her number, her business, and another name with another number. Crazy how the world works, it's like i manifested it. (I did.) crazy.
