Jisoo knew she wasn't supposed to be in here. Chaeyoung didn't like it when people entered her room. This part of the house was prohibited for everyone else. But they had gotten into a fight the previous night. Which had never happened up until then. She needed to make it right somehow. Of course, tensions had always been high, with Jisoo entering her and her father's life so suddenly, but Chaeyoung had never snapped like that before.

It was mostly just snarky remarks. Something that could come off as teasing or joking, but it could also at times feel hurtful. And Jisoo understood perfectly. Truly, she did. Who likes seeing their father being taken advantage of by a young "gold digger" after all? Except that Jisoo wasn't in it just for the money. She really did love Minho. She loved the stability he provided; mostly emotionally, but the financial part was also a bonus. Jisoo was tired of being left broken hearted by every other young guy she got involved with, she had already turned thirty. It was time to settle down.

That's how, less than a year into her job as a secretary of a highly prestigious firm, she was already married and quitting to become a stay-at-home wife to the same CEO that hired her. Of course, Jisoo knew it wasn't all going to be just peaches and cream. The twenty-year age gap between them was very palpable. When she moved into the elder's mansion, she already knew of his daughter. Minho warned her that she could be a little difficult and "rebellious" at times. Jisoo thinks that 'spoiled' would be a much more fitting adjective.

Chaeyoung made it her mission from the very first time she laid eyes on Jisoo to make her life in this house a living hell. From snarky remarks, to death glares and sometimes even shoves against her shoulders. Chaeyoung acted worse than any toddler Jisoo had ever encountered in her entire life. And she was almost twenty-four.

Jisoo's husband still wanted his daughter to live with them. She was soon going to take over the title of CEO. Minho wished to retire early so he and Jisoo could enjoy the rest of their life away on his vacation house in Jeju. So he needed to have Chaeyoung near, in order to teach her everything she needs to know once her father will be gone.

Chaeyoung made her dislike for her father's new wife known since the very beginning. It had caused a lot of fights between them, which ended with Chaeyoung being punished most of the time. It had never happened directly between her and Jisoo until the previous night though.

Jisoo was really trying. Way harder than she probably should have for someone who was not going to appreciate her efforts anyway. She put her best skills to use by cooking them all a lovely dinner; something they could enjoy together around the dining table. It would make for a good excuse to start up a conversation. Jisoo wanted to at least try to get closer to Chaeyoung. She thought a nice meal along with a polite chat could be a good start. Except, she should've known better than to believe that that's something Chaeyoung would be willing to agree to. She wasn't even subtle about it either.
