CHAPTER 5

Ben's POV

"Good Morning Josh." I said as I woke up to the soundtrack of Joshie's favorite tv show.

"Morning Benji." He said, eating my cereal.

"Ugh why do you always eat my cereal." I groaned, getting out of bed.

"It's either that or bacon, and I didn't have any this morning." He said, fake pouting.

I picked up my phone and looked at my Instagram. I noticed I had a new follower.

@annalise_bowe started following you.

I looked through her Instagram real quick (stalker Ben lol), and I followed her too.

Annalise POV

I was looking through my Instagram while eating my breakfast (now you won't pass out like you almost did, smart move.), and I saw that Ben had started following me.

@bentylercook started following you.

I looked through his Instagram, and saw a picture of him next to the Newsies sign. I immediately liked it. I commented: Once a newsie, always a newsie xxx #Newsiesnationaltour. I pressed send. I immediately regretted putting the xxx there. I got dressed in a blue short-sleeve shirt and black sweatpants to match my black and white shoes. I filled up my water bottle, packed a protein bar and a muffin, and got an Uber to the theater.

When I got to the theater, I sat down and started stretching. I was able to fall into my middle split today, and I held it for thirty seconds so that I could stretch out my hamstring. I saw Ben and Josh walk in when I was in my middle split, and Ben walked over to me.

"Did you eat breakfast this morning? I don't want to have to give you another protein bar" He joked.

"Ha ha. Yes I did, and I brought a protein bar and a muffin just in case so don't worry Benjamin." I said smiling.

He faked being offended when I said Benjamin.

"I was joking." He said looking at me. "And for the record, I'd rather you call me Benji like Josh does than Benjamin."

"Benji, I like it. It suits you Benji." I said smiling.

"Ugh I didn't say I liked being called Benji." He said looking annoyed.

"Well too bad." I said laughing.

Soon Jeff called us and explained that we were going to be learning the rest of our lines and learning the rest of the dances. We worked for about four hours, perfecting our dances. Luckily we didn't need much help with our lines.

(A week later)

Today was our first run through of the show. I was so excited to see how much we had improved since we first started rehearsing. Ben and I had grown a bit closer and he now had a nickname for me, Arrow, because my last name was Bowe. You get it.

"Arrow?" Ben asked during rehearsal.

"Yeah Benji?" I said, confused.

"Do want to go to the ice cream place after our run through?" He asked, looking up from his script that he was looking at, because he had forgotten a line. It just so happened to be a part of Race and Sniper's conversation.

"Of course." I said, looking at him, and smiling.

"PLACES EVERYONE!" Jeff yelled through all the singing and talking.

We all took our places and started from Race's line. "Hey, Albert, Elmer, Specs! You heard Jack. Get a move on."

We went through the entire muscial, and we did really well. Jeff only told us to work on Once and For All, but the rest was stage-ready. YAY.
