Chapter 1

It has been weeks since their first encounter,yet they still continue to meet regularly. However, Niko couldn't shake off the persistent longing for something deeper. He yearned to understand if Mika still held the feelings of love for him as he did for her.

Nevertheless,dispite this complicated feeling,Niko accepted the role of "best friend" knowing that Mika has a limited circle of companions,most of them being cats. They still spend time together,gathering at each other's houses,engaging in various fun and enjoyable activities,exchanging stories about their daily life and sharing lighthearted jokes.

However,there is one thing that puzzled Niko's mind:Mika had confided him about her overprotective older brother,Nicholas,who strictly forbade her from leaving the house without permission. Moreover,he had once tried to prevent her only friend,a girl,from entering their home,let alone a boy. Yet,Niko finds himself casually spending hours in Mika's room without encountering any apparent issue or objection.

Mika,too,find it peculiar and couldn't help but wonder if her brother deemed Niko trustworthy enough to be allowed in the household and around her. After all,Nicholas hadn't expressed any concerns regarding Niko being in their house.

Deciding not dwell on the matter,Mika chose to set aside her thoughts and instead suggested a game to Niko,aiming to lift his spirits up and bring some cheer into their time together. "What's your current job,and what job you dream of if you could change your current one?" Mika asked curiously.

Niko chuckled and responded,
"This isn't a game if you think about it,but I'll play along! Currently,I am an investigator investigating about magical creatures. It is a pretty cool job,but do you what would be cooler? Fighting these magical creatures! I've always dreamed of fighting them but I haven't reached that level strength yet" .
"That's so fricking cool!" Said Mika excitingly.

Eager to keep the conversation going,Niko asked,"Now it's your turn! Tell me about you career and your dream career."
Mika's face lit up as she replied,
"Well,to be honest,I don't have a job,but I would like to work in a cat café or a shelter surrounded by adorable felines. Picture it: Fluffy Main Coons here,and elegant Persians there and just cats everywhere! Just the thought alone brings me immense joy!"
"Huh? Why don't you have a job?" Exclaimed Niko.
"Because we are rich B*tch." Replied Mika with an unfazed demeanor, "My family is wealthy,why would I work if I can already afford the life I wanted? Although having purring and playful co-workers doesn't sound bad"

"Lucky you", Niko said,before how late it had become. He apologized to Mika and hurriedly made his way home.

At this moment,Mika's heart skipped a beat as she realizes that an investigator who specializes in magical creatures was with her this whole time. Fear gripped her as she worries about her true nature being exposed.

Yet,what struck her as being even more odd about her brother was the fact that he didn't seem to notice that an investigator was around her and didn't have an objection letting him enter their house. Somehow,in a way,he seems to even trust him.
