He took a deep breath and held on tight. The bronc bucked and twisted, but Jake held his ground. As the time ticked away, he knew he had done it. He had stayed on for the full eight seconds. The announcer confirmed it - he was the winner of the saddle bronc riders.
"And Jake Roirdon has a score of 88.4! He will be today's saddle bronc champion!" The announcer boomed. Jake waved his hat and gave a bow.
As he walked back to the chutes, he saw her waiting for him. She congratulated him with a smile and a hug. They talked and flirted, and Jake found out that her name was Sarah. He asked her if she would watch him ride at Rodeo Houston, and she said yes.
After the rodeo, they went out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. They laughed and talked over a delicious meal. Jake couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to her. As they walked back to his trailer, he asked her if she wanted to go out with him again. She said yes, and they exchanged numbers.
The next day, Sarah's brothers teased her about Jake. They joked that he was just another cowboy with a hat and boots. But Sarah knew better. She knew that Jake was special. He was kind, respectful, and passionate about his sport. As Jake rode off into the sunset, Sarah couldn't help but smile. She knew that she had found someone special, and she was excited to see where their journey would take them.
