It had been quite a lot of things to handle in such a short amount of time. One minute she had been enjoying the woods, the next she was almost killed by her friends, and now she was back in the school and having to pretend she hadn't been turned into a demon. When did her life get so complicated?
Shiori really wished she knew. It was late at night now. She couldn't sleep so she was up in the living area, watching a random TV show to pass the time.
Michiru had been filled in on what was going on. She had been just as confused and concerned as the other girls had been when they first learned all of this. At least everyone was willing to let her return without issue. Shiori had been afraid they might turn her in and let her be killed.
Now came the question of what to do next. She shouldn't have come back this soon. It was quite problematic. Her form was still somewhat unstable. If she wasn't careful she might shift back to her demon form and get caught.
There would be nothing any of them could do if that happened. The demon hunters would stop at nothing to kill Shiori if they found that out and if any of them even remotely seemed like they were helping her, they would all face the same fate.
...
Yachiyo had a lot to do now that Shiori was back. Once everyone had settled in for the night, she had left to go tell the Frontier demons about where Shiori was. They were all worried when she hadn't come back very fast. Yachiyo quickly filled them in as best she could.
"So, is it safe for her to remain on Earth again?" Aruru had asked.
"Not really but I think with some help I can get her to be able to not lose control of her human form." Yachiyo replied.
"What do you mean by help?" Tsukasa questioned, "You can't really do much other than practice holding that form, can you?"
"Are you trying to increase her power artificially?" Shizuha guessed before Yachiyo could answer.
Yachiyo nodded, "It's the best we can do at this point. Shiori can't just vanish again now that she's back."
"How do you plan to get enough power for her? I imagine it's more than you can give up." Lalafin asked as well.
"Do you want us to give some of our power for her?" Misora asked as a follow up.
"If you wouldn't mind sparing some power, that would be great." Yachiyo held out a bracelet, "This is what I'm planning to store it in. It won't be suspicious for her to wear a bracelet around."
The five demons nodded and shared a bit of their power into the bracelet. They had all grown quite fond of the young girl as she spent more and more time with them. They didn't want to see her end up dead so soon. She deserved a chance to continue her human life. It was so cruel that it had been taken away from her like this.
"Thank you all. I'll be going to gather the others that may offer their power too." Yachiyo said and then left. She was on a time limit here. She couldn't linger too long.
Her next destination was Tamao. Said girl was still awake. Fumi was with her, but she was asleep on the bed.
"Yachiyo?" Tamao was very confused by her sudden appearance.
"Hey. I know you hate being a demon and all but I need you to give some of your power to me. Shiori is back but her human form is still unstable. We need to strengthen her or else I fear she may end up shifting back and getting herself killed." Yachiyo kept her voice quiet. She didn't want to concern Fumi if they didn't have to.
Tamao nodded, "Of course. Anything for Shiori-chan."
Yachiyo held up the bracelet once again. Tamao transfered some of her power into it as well. Yachiyo thanked her.
