Shiori had a simple request for her birthday. She wanted a movie night with Michiru. Michiru was easy to convince to allow it. Shiori had originally planned for it to just be the two of them, but at some point, Mei Fan became part of it too. Not that Shiori minded.

Shiori had gotten to choose all of the movies for tonight. She was happy with that. And so, their little movie marathon began. It went well. They had brought out some snacks and drinks for it too.

But, by the third movie, Shiori was starting to fall asleep. That was not what she wanted. She wanted to stay up all night with them. That had been the plan. Stay up until the next day which was her birthday. That would be a nice way to start it off, right? However, she was finding it hard to keep her eyes open.

She tried her best to hide it, but Michiru caught on easily. She turned to face Shiori and took in her appearance.

"Shiori, if you're tired you should go to bed." Michiru stated.

"I'm not-" Shiori was cut off by a yawn, "... tired..."

Michiru rolled her eyes, "I think you are. Come on, off to bed."

"No..." Shiori shook her head, "I can stay up."

Michiru frowned, "Shiori, you are not making it long."

"I will, Michiru." Shiori pouted.

"You do look half asleep already, Shiori." Mei Fan commented.

"I'm fine!" Shiori huffed and crossed her arms, "I can stay up late."

They fell into silence for a bit. Shiori was determined to stay awake. However, that was not looking very likely still. She was yawning more and her eyes kept falling shut on her.

Michiru decided she had enough. She grabbed hold of Shiori and drug her down onto the couch, immediately dragging her into a hug. Shiori did not give much of a reaction. She yawned again and moved closer into Michiru's embrace.

"Go to sleep, Shiori." Michiru kissed her on the head, "You aren't gonna make it."

Shiori let out a whine and mumbled some unintelligible words. Michiru rolled her eyes and started rubbing a hand over Shiori's back. The younger relaxed quite easily. Michiru kept it up for a few minutes, before looking down at Shiori. She was asleep now. Good.

Or, so she thought. As Michiru moved to get out of her grip, Shiori refused to let go.

"Don't leave me..." Shiori blinked up at her.

Michiru sighed, "You still aren't asleep..."

"I'm not falling asleep! Let me go!" Shiori protested and tried to wiggle her way out of Michiru's grip.

Michiru realized now that this plan had a major flaw. Shiori may not be stronger than her, but her height definitely gave her some help. Michiru lost her grip on Shiori and the girl sat up again. She pouted at Michiru and crossed her arms.

"Who would've thought Shiori gets grumpy when she's tired." Mei Fan spoke up. She had been enjoying the scene from the sidelines.

"I'm not tired! And I'm not grumpy!" Shiori stated.

"Yeah, you totally aren't." Mei Fan rolled her eyes.

"Shiori, quiet down or you'll end up waking Akira and Yachiyo." Michiru put a finger over her lips, "We don't want that now do we?"

"No... sorry, Michiru..." Shiori quieted down.

"Better." Michiru kissed her on the cheek, "But, Shiori, if you're tired go to bed. We can watch the rest another day. We can finish them tomorrow for your birthday."
