With your remaining strength, you pushed the glass door of the convenience store with one hand, having your other one occupied with the things you bought to heal Beomgyu's wounds. You found him sitting down on the single step of the sidewalk, he had his elbows resting on top of his knees with his hands covering his face.
The dark loom was evident and was hovering over his fragile figure, it brought weight to his shoulders as you can see how he bit down on his lip. Hard and numb. The air that was connecting the two of you was stiff, it was suffocating for it made your chest tighten when you caught a glimpse of the intricate cuts and bruises around his face.
Taking a look back at the bright store behind you, you squinted your eyes to look at the time that was displayed on the digital clock on the counter.
2:42 am
Averting your train of thought back to the boy in need, you slowly sat down beside him, both shoulders touching as the other side grew quiet and cold for you to hang on.
"Hey" You breathed out lightly, your soft voice filling up the empty street.
And when he didn't give you any sort of response, the silence was killing you as time goes by. Swallowing down the lump in your throat, you shifted your position from sitting next to him to kneeling in front of him. Both knees touched the graveled road with gentle hands coming up to catch his bruised ones that were still covering his face.
Your movements were careful, acting as if he was the most fragile being in this world and when he didn't move away from your touch, you continued to provide him the protection that you didn't get to give him earlier. And when you finally removed his hands that were covering his face, you slipped your fingers through the gaps to intertwine them together, your heart cracking slowly when you saw his bloody lips.
Beomgyu's teeth were in between the smooth flesh, the crimson liquid providing color to show his pale face. The silence was so loud for you to bear when your eyes managed to lock with his tired ones.
"Will you let me take care of you?"
Beomgyu can feel the warmness of your voice touching his skin, your eyes meeting his and when you watch him lean his forehead closer to yours, you closed your eyes and relished the moment.
And then suddenly the world wasn't so loud for him anymore.
"Fuck...okay. You can take care of me, peaches" His hushed voice made you open your eyes slowly, they weren't tired anymore but instead you only saw your reflection in them, they were filled with admiration and care. Throwing away the heaviness he felt when he finally saw you smile.
Nodding your head as a sign that you would now begin, you opened the small pack of cotton balls and after that, you moved on with opening the betadine. You were careful the whole time because he wasn't fully healed yet from the beating he got last time.
