C.9-The Truth

//Lily's P.O.V//

I woke up and I was still in a lot of pain. I sat up and I felt my stomach. I could feel how full of life my child was. It always made me happy. Even though it hurt, it made mei9 smile. I sighed and got out of bed. I grabbed my phone off of its charger and then Alan messages me.

I put my phone away and went downstairs. Yordan was on the couch. I went and sat by him. He looked really worried.

'I know what you're thinking'
'huh?'
'youre worried for her. Aren't you?'
'yeah...'

I put my arm around him and he leaned on my shoulder. He laid down on the couch and I laid next to him. He had his arm around my shoulders. I kept shuffling to try and get comfortable. My back and legs were aching and I was tired. Yordan looked at me concerned.

'what's wrong baby?'
'I can't get comfortable...my back and legs ache and im tired...'
'do you want me to go?'
'no...i want you to stay...'
'hold on. I'll be back in a second'

He got up and went upstairs. He then came back with a couple pillows and a blanket. He gave me the pillows. I put one between my legs and when Yordan laid beside me, I put it against my stomach. He laid the blanket on both of us and he cuddled me. I was a flustered mess. I then fell asleep as he was playing around with my hair.

//Alans P.O.V//

I sighed out of pure boredom. We had been waiting for an hour and 30 minutes to get the results of the X-ray. Faith was still asleep on me. I just wanted to get home and out her in her room but I knew I couldn't. I was starting to get fed up of waiting. It was kind of ridiculous because they said it would be an hour at the most but then they delayed it for 10 minutes and then they were saying it would be another 30 minutes. Right before I was just about to walk out of there, a doctor came up to me.

'Are you Mr Walker?'
'Yes'
'And you are the legal guardian of Faith?'
'yeah'
'whats her birth name'
'just put it as walker'
'we need her real birth name sir'
'she doesn't have one. She went into the adoption centre when she was only like 4 weeks old because she was left on the side of the road!'
'we still need a birth name sir'
'YEAH- SHE DOESN'T F*CKING HAVE ONE-'
'calm down sir'
'I'll calm down when you check your damn hearing'
'I need a legal document to prove this, sir'

I then took out the adoption papers from my pocket and threw them at him.

'is that enough proof for you!'
'okay sir, we need a form of ID to prove this is you'

By this point, I was p*ssed off. I never usually got mad but this day was too much. First Yordan nearly passes out, then Faith gets injured, then we wait for nearly 2 hours for an x ray result and now I needed about 4 million pieces of proof to prove she was legally my child. I had enough. Usually I just gave the documents and shut up but not today. I was tired of all this. I took my ID out and gave him it. He then gave me them back and I snatched them.

'okay sir. The results will be discuss ssed over call'
'whatever. Can I just take her home now?'
'yes sir'

I then picked her up and side eyed the doctor as I walked past him. I was not in the mood. That was when Faith woke up. She then looked into my eyes. It was like she knew what was wrong. Like she knew I wasnt okay,even though she slept through it.

'You okay sweetheart?'
'No...my arm still hurts and I have a headache...'
'You can go back to sleep once we get to the car, alright?'
'Dad, what happened. I know soemthing happened. I can literally sense it.'
'Im just stressed out'
'why?'
'one of the doctors clearly didn't read the documents o gave them because they asked for your birthname'
'that's f*cking stupid. That's why I hate hospitals.'
'exactly'

I put her in the car and she leaned against the window. I then got into the seat beside her. She out her belt on with her other arm. She then took out her phone and it started ringing. She had a smile on her face from the song and I did too. It was a song I did. It was sorry. She loved that song. She awnsered the call.

'Hey Danny'
'Hey Faith! How did it go?'
'it went fine. My arm still hurts like hell though. And we still haven't gotten the results.'
'oh. Well, Freddie, Sasha and Xeno wanted to know when you're coming back?'
'depends if my dad will let me go. You know how he is'
'it's sweet though. He cares about you. And consideromg he used to be your idol.'
'what do you mean used to? I still look up to him! I want to be known as someone like him'
'that's cute!'
'anyway, I'll ask him when I'll be going back and I'll message you. Make sure you tell my besties'
'I will'

She ended th call and she looked at me. I must have been visably shocked becasue she asked me

'what's wrong dad?'
'you...stoll look up to me?'
'is that a real question? Of course I do! You think I wouldn't be? You're literally one of the only people I trust with all my heart!'
'really....'
'really,dad. You was the only person that wanted me. Noone else did. You cared for me, even when you barely knew me. Like back during the infection, who was there when I was weak?'
'me...'
'exactly! Who was there when I nearly died from my head injury?'
'me...'
'exactly... Youre one of the only people that cared...'
'who are the others?'
'Lily,Lucas, Yordan, Daniel, Freddie and Xeno. All of you guys are the reason im still here. Just as I wanted I give up, Lucas stopped me! And when one family had just left me, you came and took me. When I'm struggling with anything, Lily let's me talk to her and she helps me. When I'm in a bad mood, Yordan always makes me laugh. And when I get bullied, my friends are there...you guys are my life...'

I teared up as she spoke and she hugged me.

'I love you, so much, Dad'
'I love you too...'

I then took her home and when Lily saw her, She immidiatley jumped up and hugged her.

'youre okay! Oh I was so worried!'
'you were?'
'of course I was! When I heard you scream, I was so scared that you weren't okay...'
'why do you care so much...'
'because you're like my family...you feel more like a neice to me...because you're dad is like my brother...'
'awh...'
'go check your room...theres something in three for you...'
'alright...'

She walked up the stairs to her room. I followed and so did lily and yordan. Then all of her friends and lucas were there.

'SURPRISE!'
'Oh...my...god...WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING HERE!'

She looked so happy. Then Freddie just said

'Saaaammeee'

She laughed and then lucas hugged her.

'thank god you're okay'
'yeah...'

They all stayed with her for the next few hours. They did a lot togeher. They watched movies and played games. But the best moment is when they were watching one of Faiths favorite films and I sat with them. They let me stay with them. We even made jokes and we had fun together. And then Yordan ran in and jumped on me. We were sat there dying for ages. Then they left. That day was probably one of the best days.
