I now know everything.

This much new information is making my brain hurt. I needed to know when my fate will be sealed.

"When will he arrive?" I asked, my voice coming out quieter than I anticipated.

"Within the week." Answered my father. I sat back in the chair, letting a tear escape. I could tell what he was thinking without having to look at him. I was thinking the same thing. I just reunited with my family. I didn't want to leave again, I'll take the burden if Vicky has already chosen her mate. "You're all dismissed."

Everyone made their way out of the room, except Kyle and me.

"Our relationship is now stained. I will be more willing to go with the king if he picks me." I slowly opened my eyes and looked at his sullen face.

He nodded, "I know. I can't give up now, even if he kills me." I closed my eyes and wished this pounding headache will go away.

"I'm too tired to discuss this right now Kyle."

"Okay." He said it in a quiet voice I almost didn't hear him. He walked me back to my room. I felt his lips on my forehead after he rucked me in. "Goodnight, Mae." He whispered as he left my room.

Today has been too eventful for me, I'm utterly exhausted. It felt like I could sleep for a whole week and I soon drifted to sleep.

I was running, and my muscles were screaming at me to slow down. I couldn't slow down I'm sure I was being tested.

"Please stop!"  A man's voice entered my head.

"I can't"  I cried, "just leave me alone! You're no longer my dad!" Shocked at my sentence the person chasing me stopped. I couldn't stop though I had to keep going. I had to get back to him.

As soon as I woke up I could tell it was still nighttime. I checked my phone and it indicated that I was asleep for two days. Did I sleep for two whole days? Why did they let me sleep in?

Quietly I opened my door and looked down the hallway. All of the doors were open. I peeked into one of them and there was no one inside. I hope nothing happened.

I made my way down the hallway and the stairs.  On the main floor, there were remnants of last night's dinner in the kitchen. I took a glass and filled it with water drinking it like it was the last one I'll see in a while.

There's a commotion outside.  I set the glass down and went to a window to see what was going on.

Everyone was bowing down to a tall muscular man with a crown on his head. Oh shit!

I hurriedly went outside and was then hit with an intense scent. I looked at the king and he was staring at me with a smirk on his face. He's early, where is the beta?

"It seems you finally decided to join us?"

I bowed and said, "I'm sorry your grace. I was exhausted and slept for two whole days, sir."  He grunted at my response.

He walked up to me and lifted my chin. "You're unmarked yes?" He questioned me.

"Yes, sir."

"Call me anything but sir and your grace. You're my mate, my queen." His face was so close to mine. "My name is Joel. Call me by my name or any other pet name you see fit."

Kyle growled at him. "Let go of her."

Joel stared down Kyle until he submitted.

"I will either mark you now or when we get back to the palace." My face grew hot.

"I'd like the privacy," I replied.

"Good." Joel nodded and started to walk towards a helicopter that I'm only noticing now. "No need to gather clothes, we'll have you fitted for new ones when we reach the rest of the pack," Joel explained as the helicopter started up.
