Chapter 5-Tastes Like Nothin'

We entered the realm of the living. It was bright and cheerful. Humans waltzed down the streets with family. I wonder how it feels to be a part of one. I can't remember my life here when I was alive. It seemed so great to be loved or to love. All that was on my mind lately was the demon realm.

Then Shank tapped my shoulder then spoke"Hey, Yumi ya there?"

I replied in a quiet tone "Yeah."

"Great. So now let's find someone who's in stress. I can smell there fear, sadness or anger. Let's go."

We ran off passing lots of people, none of them noticing us.

We entered an ally way. There was a man with a knife attacking an older man.

"Can you sense the grandpa's fear?" Shank whispered.

I nodded. I could sense it.

"Now what?"

"Now ask the grandpa if he wants to live."

I approached the grandpa passing through the murderer and whispered to the grandpa "Do you want to live?"

"Yes! Yes!" Yelled the grandpa.

"Now ask him to trade something for his life."yelled Shank

"Uh..... what do I get for saving you?"

"I'll give you anything!"

"Now kill the murderer with your sword!" Said Shank.

I did as he said. The murderer fell on the ground, motionless.

A little light appeared and it turned into an orb.

"Good job. Now kill the grandpa."said.Shank

"Why I just helped him?" I asked.

"A deals a deal. Do you see a chain on him?"

I looked and saw one."uh yeah"

"Grab it"

I grabbed it" now what?"

"Now you own him. You can do what ever you want to do with him. Now eat the level 0."

"The level 0?"

"The glowing orb."

"You want me to eat that?"

"No I want you to eat that knife. Of course I want you to eat that orb! Now hurry before an angel of death comes."

I grabbed the orb and slowly put it in my mouth. It didn't taste like anything. It felt weird going down my throat.

"So how is it?"questioned Shank.

"Tastes like nothin'." I answered.

"Great. The more you eat the more powerful you'll get. Do you wanna continue or head back?"

"Let's go back. Where's Sora?"

"Now that I think about I think he bailed on us."

He had already written the words on the wall. The portal then appeared. He went through and I followed.

When we were back, I saw Sora was there talking to Rose.

Sora had his ax in his left hand. He must had already went.

Shank ran over and started to complain.

I wondered away from the gang. Walking down the unfamiliar street. I passed groups of demons and phantoms on the way. They seemed confused seeing me there. I wasn't able to tell why. Maybe it was my rank?

Some started to fallow me so I quickened my pace.

A voice called out."Hey, aren't you the girl from the weapon shop?!"

"Uh..ya.." I said as a stopped to face them.

They seemed to be surprised that I stopped.

One of the demons pulled out a 9 in. knife. I had my sword in hand.

What did they want?

"So where's Asura. I won't hurt her. I know you and Shank hang around her." Said the demon with the knife.

"Who's Asura? Do you mean Rose?" I asked.

"So that's what she goes by now. Now where is she?"

I couldn't tell them, they may hurt Rose.

"I don't know."I replied.

By Thx looks on there faces they didn't buy it.

I can't fight these guys. I have no chance against a demon.

The guy with the knife came closer.

I then saw a bullet fly into his head. He collapsed on the ground as blood poured from his head. When I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked to see......
