I was at school with Carrie, and we were discussing prom.

"You do realize that we need to have a weird conversation with your mom, right?"

Carrie: I know.

"I just hope she does not try to strangle me when I tell her."

Carrie: Don't worry I'll try to talk to her ahead of time.

"So, I will pick you up at your house at 7:00 PM."

Carrie: Okay, but I need to be back by 10:30.

"That more than enough time."

Carrie smiles as the bell rings and we both go to class.

3rd POV:

After class Carrie was walking through the streets when she saw a dress with black patterns and smiles. She then enters the shop without noticing Chris and her friends.

Tina: I'm not even surprised. Y/N L/N and Carrie White.

Carrie enters and looks around for dresses as she sees the prices. She smiles at a roll of fabric, and she pulls it out. Meanwhile Chris looks inside the store window. Carrie then returns home at night while it is thundering. She then slows down as she sees her mom.

Margaret: Where have you been? I was worried sick. Come on. Come inside.

Carrie: I'm sorry I'm late, Mama.

Margaret: Just get inside.

They enter as Margaret slams the door.

Margaret: Your supper's cold. I'm going to have to heat it up. I didn't know... You're immodest. I didn't know where you were. I didn't know.

Carrie: No, Mama. I took a bus to Main Street. And I bought cloth for a dress.

Margaret: You are not to go anywhere but to school and back. You know that.

Carrie: Mama, before you say anything else, I've been asked to prom.

Margaret starts to clean the kitchen.

Carrie: Mama, I've been asked to prom.

Margaret: Oh, God, why?

Carrie: It's next Saturday and Y/N is very kind and sweet. And he'll come and meet you before and he promised to have me home by 10:30.

Margaret starts to shake her head.

Margaret: No, no, no.

Carrie: I already accepted. I know this scares you. It scares me and Y/N, too. The other kids, they think we are weird. But we don't want to be. We have to try to be a whole person. Before it's too late.

Margaret places her hands on Carrie's face and smiles.

Margaret: He'll hurt you.

Carrie: No, Mama. No, Mama, there are bad people, but not Y/N. He's good. You'll like him. He's a very nice boy.

Margaret: Boys, boys. After the blood, comes the boys sniffing, slobbering like dogs.

Carrie: Stop it, Mama.

Margaret: He's going to paw at you until he finds where the blood smell comes from. He's going to take you, Carrie, in his car out to the wilderness, out where it's cold and the roadhouses are and the whiskey.

Carrie: Stop being so crazy.

Margaret: You are going to tell that boy you're not going.

Carrie: No.
