I had learned quite a bit about Manny these past few days.

Number one, over everything, she enjoyed her own company. Maybe it was a result of the situation she was in for so long — the desensitisation of solitude made this sense of Stockholm syndrome conjure up in her.

She fell inlove, is what she told me. With the wrong person. "He" was so different and she liked that. Which in turn, turned her colourblind. All his red flags had become messily painted in lime green. So bright and sickening they were conditioning to the eye. Then suddenly, she was where she never expected.

What made me feel even worse for her was that she blamed herself. For seeing the good in people so blindly. She had no idea the crowd he had surrounded her with, the people he had gotten her involved with, never mind the situations. But there was no way it could be her fault. She wasn't giving herself a break.
