Chapter 1 Part 3: The Light Disburses

Akira the lead basketball player a man who accomplishments match his cocky attitude. He is a man of little fear many admire him, but everyone fears him and his capable nature. He knows it too, he is athletically intelligent using moves and twists, not many thinks about using. His flexible nature and his I can do anything attitude have allowed him to do these things. He talks with his friends and chats it up with his old buddy Kami before he goes on his trip. The next day he finds himself talking to Aoi because he was alone due to his friend's incompetence. The rest of the day he does nothing, he does what he always does at practice and outplays everyone else. Due to his successes, he is the best on his team but also the most hated. He is constantly put down by others but that only drives him more.

He comes home after practicing with his sickly mother who raised him but fell ill due to a hereditary disease. He takes some water and kisses his mother and tells her I'm leaving for work. He heads of to work to pay for the apartment they are staying in he is also taking on side jobs and getting help from the school. His cocky attitude only fades when its for his mother to which he accepts help generously. However due to the basketball tournament he cannot work the hours at work because of prolonged practices and more vicious training routine. He must hire a nanny for his mother. He picked up doing shows for the people for some change. He is become sluggish and uncanny in his basketball games. So, after the coach confronted him.

"DO YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME"

"I don't know what you are talking about." Akira replied.

"WE CANNOT HAVE YOU SPACING OUT GO HOME AND GET SOME SLEEP" the coach demands Akira.

"Yes sir" Akira said back. He is stumbling back home and comes across this flyer on a pole offering a large some of money if they help with this experiment. In desperation to keep his mother alive as soon as he got home, he called the number and gave her his information. They said they would come the next morning. So, he gave his mother his daily pills and headed to bed. He fell asleep as soon as he came in contact and when he awoke, he was in a white room glass pane panel on his left and right. Confused he stumbled up and a door in front of him opened and a man told him to follow him. He did and was taken to a lab where he was strapped down to the table. The man walked out of the room and Akira asked one question.

"Hey instead of the money can you just take care of my mother and her illness" A moment of silence and then the speaker's come on and repeat.

"Yes, that will be our payment to you."

"Thank you" Akira replied. They started the experiment with a few bloods test and blood draws. They gave him different tests and were told he could go home for the day. He was escorted out of the building and was told they would come to get him in the morning. He nodded his head and was driven back to his house where he arrived late at noon. He was ecstatic to finally not have to worry about his mother's life anymore. He was able to put his full attention toward the game and basketball that night and the coach was happy he was back to his cocky self again. He became boastful and annoying to his teammates again.

He went back home and woke up again in the same white box they took him out and dragged him to a different lab room. One with high voltage electrical tasers sitting at the top. He was told to put on this custom-made copper armor. He is put in the room and the speaker rings.

"Testing of the Zeplin project. Force stress induced environment is inbound. Test subject number #84393, to be determined."

The high voltage tasers are shocking with life as the room itself squeezes into itself. Akira laughs as he thinks this is a joke and he wont be tazed he stands there proudly. The tasers get close and reach contact. His laugh soon turned into a seizure of the body. He was shaking uncontrollably and was foaming at the mouth and his eyes rolled back. His skin was emitting smoke and showed signs of burns. His heart was beating too fast and exploded within his body. Unfortunately, he felt it all as he was suffocating at the foam and was feeling a tingling sensation that overwhelmed everything else. He was soon to be dead. When the scientist observed his body collapsing within itself and turning black. They backed off the tasers and watched as it beat; like a heart and watched it stop. For Akira everything faded to black. When he awoke, he was in the same room as the other times but on the other sides of those glass pane walls were Aoi and Kami sleeping next to him. The scientist who took him back for the other experiments stated to him.

"Akira Ganko, test subject number #84393, successful, happy shock day."
