It had been a stuffy day, which transferred into the night. Jessika distinctly remembered this, well she remembered the fact that her night dress was sticking to her after running through the woods. She remembered becoming extremely thirsty really quickly, she would run in the woods regularly as a way to escape and she would find she didn't even notice her thirst levels.

But at that moment; her mouth felt dry, her lips were cracked and her head felt like someone had just swung a pan against it. She had no idea why she was suffering this much from being without liquid for a couple of hours.

She decided to stop running and catch her breath back, her mind was racing with what had just happened. It was racing with questions like 'what just happened?', for her mind was not yet accustomed to phrases like 'turned into a vampire' or 'the guy you thought was your father just stabbed you in the back-to turn you into a vampire'. The word vampire had no meaning to her yet, so of course she had no idea she was in transition.

"Jessika?" A voice said from behind a tree, Jessika of course knew this voice and as soon as she heard it relief flowed through her body. She ran up to Erik and wrapped her arms around him, pulling herself as tight as she could into him as he was her only safe space at that current moment.

"What are you doing out here at this time?" He asked, bringing his arms around her back and resting his chin on her head. And that's when she finally broke down into tears, her knees buckling underneath her. Erik kept her in his arms, but he crouched down so that they were both on the forest floor and that's where they stayed for eight minutes and 43 seconds. That's when Jessika quickly stood up and moved away from Erik, clutching her stomach as the memory of what just happened suddenly came flooding into her head.

"What happened?" Erik slowly stood up, startled at Jessika's quick movements. His eyes followed her as she paced back and forth processing information.

"I...I don't know." She stuttered, her mind racing; not being able to focus on one point in the event. She turned and faced Erik, hoping that focusing on him could help her but as soon as she did she saw the shocked look on his face.

She was confused, she didn't know why he looked like that. But she couldn't see what he could, which was that the entirety of the front of her nightdress was soaked in blood. Erik was scared, any sane person would be but he wasn't scared of the blood he was scared of what it could mean. He was scared that there was a lot of blood on the person he loved, too much blood for any person to still be alive.

She finally realised he was looking at the middle of her nightdress, so she followed his gaze and saw the blood.

'Was it hers?' She thought, her mind began racing again, her breathing quickened as she looked up at Erik again- panicked.

"Jess! Whose blood is that?" He asked, striding towards Jess and grabbing both of her shoulders in a sense of urgency. Jess looked away from Erik, trying to remember, trying to remember everything that happened. Mikael and Esther had given the a glass of wine to help the grieve over their fallen brother, and the next thing Jess knew Mikael was driving his sword through her other siblings and then he looked at her once they were all down on the floor. Dead.

She knew he was going to do the same as he did to them, and then she realised whose blood it was, and her eyes shot back up to Erik.

"Mine..."

"Oh god, Erik, it is my blood. How is it my blood? I remember Mikael pointing his sword at me, and then he...."

"Am I dead?"

"They are all dead. I saw them; they didn't move."

"How can I be dead?"

"I can not be dead! Can I?"
