REMUS

Remus was on his way out of his shabby flat that he was likely to get kicked out of at a moment's notice, sighing at the thought of a new meeting, long, boring, and senseless as it would get the Order nowhere in finding a way to defeat Voldemort and the Death Eaters. He then groaned as he thought of Padfoot hassling him about finding a girl. He was too busy with the Order, or at least that was his current excuse, as it sounded better than people couldn't love him because of his "condition". Friendship is one thing, an intimate relationship is definitely another.

He steps to the fireplace, grabbing some Floo powder, and says sharply, "12 Grimmauld Place."

Upon reaching the house, he enters and walks to the living room.  Looking down, he brushed the dust off his clothes, though they weren't too clean and orderly to begin with. Suddenly he felt a bump, and slid to the floor, someone else falling with him. He lands flat on his back while the mystery person lands on top of his chest. He looks up, curiosity piqued, and forgets how to breathe. She is....beautiful. Wow. Her hair is....pink? Still, he can't help but think of how stunning she is. He gives a sharp intake, and she glances down at him, then hurries to get off. She goes to get up, but moves too quickly, and loses her footing, tripping over his foot. Instinctively, he springs to his feet, ready to catch her. Where was this agility when he needed it normally?

"I....oh...I'm sorry....you are, well....you must be...Remus, erm..Lupin?" The girl asks him, stuttering rather awkwardly.

"Hi, um yes, I am...and you are..?" he asks, wondering foolishly if maybe he's the reason she is stuttering. He dismisses the thought immediately, ridiculous.

"I'm Tonks, Nymphadora Tonks." She introduces herself, then smirks and adds, "but don't call me Nymphadora." He smiles at her in response.

They small talk a bit more and find they have a lot in common. There is one difference between them, however. He's a Member from the first war, and she has only just joined. The pair walk to the dining room together, and strike up a rather pleasant conversation. About books. Apparently she is just an avid reader as him...

Seconds later, they enter, and he holds the door for her out of chivalrous instincts. When she said thanks, he remembered seeing something rather strange....was she...blushing? No, of course not, it is after all rather warm in here, he tells himself. He then shivers at the sudden draft.

He couldn't contemplate much longer, however, because the meeting started, putting all other thoughts out of his mind. When it was over, Tonks left immediately with Mad-Eye, and Remus was left  to wonder why he was so disappointed.

That night, as he tossed and turned in a spare room in Grimmauld Place, he finally fell asleep to the replaying of earlier conversations, and as his eyelids drooped, the last thing he saw was her smiling face.

NYMPHADORA

Tonks was making her way down the hall when she tripped-no surprise there. But what was surprising was the that it wasn't just over some random inanimate object, but a person. She rolled her eyes inwardly to herself, how much more of a klutz could she be? It was as if her luck couldn't get any worse. Then she looked down, and it did in face get worse.  The man she had been secretly crushing on for three months was right beneath her. Remus Lupin.

She gulped, this was not going to go over well. Tonks needed to get out of there, now, before she made any more of a fool of herself. Besides, he would never like someone like her. I mean, he's too perfect for someone so accident-prone. It could never work out. So, without meaning to, she joined the Order of the Pheonix, expecting a war, and instead developing a huge crush on some guy that doesn't even know she exists. Well, not until now anyway.

He's even more handsome up close, she think to herself. He has a rugged chin, and dreamy eyes, their welcoming brown irises dripping like chocolate straight into her soul, oh, she could get lost in his eyes.......but wait. What are those scratches on the side of his cheek? Has he been hurt? Whoever hurt him, she will make them pay....She focus back on the fact that he is staring at her. She self-consciously runs a hand through her locks, her damned hair turning pink as she does so. With it she feels a blush creeping up to match the hair color. Ugh. Why her? Tonks suddenly remembers that she's still on top of him on the ground. Jumping up, she would've been fine if his leg hadn't been there...He jumps up agilely and catches her as she trips.

"H hi....you must be..RRemus...Lupin..?" she asks, and immediately wishes to slap herself repeatedly. Why oh why would she say that, now he's going to think she's strange because she knows his name.

"Hi um, yes I am...and you are?" He asks her and she pauses, relieved that he didn't ask how she knows his name. Tonks  then realizes he is still looking at her expectantly, wanting to know her name. Gulp.

"I'm Tonks, Nymphadora Tonks," she starts, then stupidly adds the automatic line, "But don't call me Nymphadora." At this point she's ready to scream in frustration with herself, but then Remus smiles at her ans she stupidly grins back, probably looking like a grinning freak in the process.

He then proceeds to escort her to the meeting hall, and on the way the pair chat about everything. She was ecstatic that he finally noticed her... But of course it all started when she fell on top of him.

After the meeting, she left with Mad-Eye so she could ask about what he thought of her small contribution speech in the meeting, and discreetly see if he noticed that she had zoned out a good percentage of the presentations due to a certain sandy-haired man.

That night Tonks fell asleep peacefully in a spare bedroom in Grimmauld Place, dreaming of being with Remus.
