Letting Go.Sam's past.
April 6, 2026. (A year ago.)
If I'm going accept Christ, do I have to stop smoking?
That was the question I asked myself as I chased God.
I had decided to ask my brother the same question.
This morning I decided to ask my brother a question I've been trying to figure out.
The smell of cappuccino, and the sounds of the news as he sips his cup roams around the living room as I walk down to sit.
As I stuttered, he glances over at me and puts down his cup.
"What's up?"
I have a question to ask.
"Yeah?"
Do I have to stop smoking to accept Christ?
"Not quite." Said Bruce, my older brother.
Why?
He sighed.
"Let me ask you this, Sam. Do you need a doctor if you are healed?"
No.
"Now answer this, do you need to stop smoking to reach Jesus Christ?"
I don't know.
He smiles as the smell of coffee beans fill the room.
"No, we don't. Our failures are why we come to Christ. Come to Christ as you are and he will change you, just trust in Him, with all your heart."
"Christ came to the world to fix the broken, to help us stand up when we stumble. In Him is true Love."
I'll try to understand it better, thanks Bro.
"Just ask. I'll try to answer when I can."
"And also,-"
he stares at me with a smug look at my face as I approach the kitchen,
"-I won't tell them, atleast not yet. So stop smoking for Ma."
Sure thing.
Day 2 (April 6 2027.)
Baptized.
Victoria.
Baptism, a beautiful act of seeking the Lord. Everyday we drown in our troubles, but when we drown in the right waters, we are born again.
I want to get baptized.
The sound of people in the church clamoring in the afternoon as I was asked.
"Would you like to get baptized?" Said The Minister.
Yes.
