As I look at the sea and as it waves find its way to me, all memories I tried to forget come back to me. The moment I ran away from the moment I found out the truth, they were right, you can't run from who you are because you'll always find your way back.
I was seventeen, just a teenager, when I learned the truth about him. The truth about the guy I trusted with all of me. He was kind, gentle, and caring yet it was all a disguise for who he truly is.
"Airene?" For a moment I felt like my whole world stopped when I heard that voice calling me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked without even looking at him.
"I was looking for you." I can sense from his voice that he's yearning and it always gets me.
"Go away, Khai." I said firmly, still trying not to look at him.
"Do you still remember that this was the exact place where we first met?"
Tears started flowing in my cheeks when he mentioned it, I was so close to forgetting it yet here he is reminding me again of the moment when I was naive. He tried getting near me but I immediately walked away.
That would be the last time he will ever see me cry.
