the first time we met, i could tell you weren't very interested, despite you being the one to take initiative. it never bothered me that much, because i didn't have any interest you in either.

that was the first thing we had in common.

but even though your eyes and body language said differently, you still kept coming back.

at first i thought it was some joke between you and your friends, something i wouldn't have understood anyway.

but you kept coming back. from the very first day beside my locker, to following me around campus. you were always there when biology ended, and sat beside me during lunch.

over time, i guess, i got tired of trying to ignore you.

the first words that fell out of my mouth, "why are you here?" i remember them so clearly. you were lost in your book, sketching something quietly after giving up on trying to talk for the day.

as soon as you heard my voice, you looked up immediately, no hint of surprise, but rather a wide grin. as if you just won the lottery or something.

"gee, no good afternoon to start off the day?" you replied with a hint of sarcasm. the wind that day had been a light breeze, but your hair had been affected by it, each time it would pass, your bangs would move to the side only to fall into your face all over again.

i watched you closely, looking for any sign of uninterest that i had seen that first day we crossed paths, but all i saw was something worth giving my attention. i thought hard about it, simply staring with my eyebrows furrowed before opening my mouth to give a reply, "the day already started."

you continued to stay after that.
