Part 9

Kayla's POV 

The next morning I opened my eyes and quickly realized that I was not in my room. I felt a ball of fluff on my chest and lifted up the covers to see dodger staring back at me with his cute puppy dog eyes. The events of last night came rushing into my head and I was embarrassed. I had a break down in front of freaking CHRIS EVANS, and then he carried me like some little kid. although it was highly embarrassing for me I did feel cared for. Is this what it feels like to have parents that care for you? it's pretty cool. 

I grabbed dodger from under the covers and started to head to downstairs. when I got down there, I heard two people talking. one was clearly Chris and he was whisper yelling to someone and it sounded like a women. I went to he kitchen which is where the whispers were coming from and as if I couldn't be any more starstruck, scarlett freaking Johansson was standing in the kitchen.

play it cool, play it cool. I kept telling myself over and over in my head. she's even prettier in person OH MY GOSH. dodger started wiggling trying to get down so I set him down and he instantly ran past Chris and to Scarlett. she crouched down and started petting him and talking to him in a baby voice.

"uh morning Chris" I say with an awkward wave and a small smile

returning the smile, he heads over to me saying,"hey kid" and rubs my back while pushing me towards Scarlett. 

"I told you I had someone for you to meet. since you're a big marvel fan I'm sure you know of my dear best friend scarjo." he said like it was no big deal.

I smiled and tried to play cool and stuck my hand out. "Aww Chris she's so stinking cute," and instead of taking my hand she pulled me into a hug. "Hi sweetheart, Chris would not shut up about adopting you and I see why now" I felt my face get hot cause Scarlett freaking Johansson was hugging me 

"I may look cool on the outside but you honestly have no idea how bad I'm fangirling on the inside right now" I stated and they both started laughing at me.

"I'm so serious, I swear if Chris hemmy or rdj walks through that door right now I'm going to lose my shit" they laughed some more then it dawned upon me that my appearance has to be horrid. I then give Chris a mini glare because he didn't tell me that I'd be meeting the woman that plays my wife.

"hey why are you looking at me like that?" Chris asked holding his hands up in surrender 

"you didn't tell me that SHE'D be coming, I literally just woke up. please excuse me" I said while quickly running back upstairs to my room to make myself look for presentable. 

Chris' POV

"so dramatic that one, I wouldn't change her though." I chuckled as she ran off.

"she's adorable, and funny. I see why you were so adamant on adopting her now."

"yeah but she's stubborn, we're on a trial but she doesn't want me to send her back. very confusing but I wouldn't send her back anyway so I've been looking for schools."

"aww father Chris, look at you all grown up." Scarlett poked fun at me literally 

I chuckled and lightly smacked her hand away, "shut up. and while you're at it call hemmy or rdj. I would love to see her lose her shit."

Kayla's POV

 "shut up. and while you're at it call hemmy or rdj. I would love to see her lose her shit."

"you definitely do NOT want to see that. you're not for that level of crazy yet." I said as walked in on their conversation for the second time this morning. we laughed and we left to go and get breakfast from a close diner. 

"so you used to sneak out to go see marvel movies?" Scarlett questioned me when I answered her question on how I used to go and see marvel movies since I was kind of stranded.

"yes I'm very devoted" I said seriously 

"and you don't like captain America but you love Chris?"

"I mean yeah, who wouldn't love Chris. he's like a big puppy." I reached over and poked his cheek and he raised his eyebrow at me while eating a fork full of eggs.

"now that you mention it, I knew dodger had a human doppelgänger." she agreed with me while also poking at his cheek and laughing

"are you guys calling me a dog?!"

"hey don't be offended, you're very well trained" I said while patting the top of his head and he just glared as Scarlett and I bursted out laughing.

"yeah that's enough now" he said pouting while putting money on the table while Scarlett and I were still laughing.

"c'mon Chris don't be like that. you really look like dodger now"
