The Shadow: A Renegade Sory

The Deal

It took a few weeks for them to recover fully. The weakness from the initial poisoned smoke effected them more long term then they had initially thought. In that time Bruce attempted to look more into the mystery man but nothing came of it. He was still a ghost in the wind. Eventually though they needed to move on.

Bruce sighed as he gathered the boys up and pushed them through the Zeta tube. He followed behind and shook his head at the unhappy looks on the boy's faces. "Stop" he said to them before they could even begin to complain "the team and you three will be training end of story" he whispered before allowing the Batman mask to fall fully into place.

He walked into main area where the Young Justice team were gathered around Black Canary. Wally who smiled when Red Robin walked in rushed over and began to talk a mile a minute. Batman held back an eye roll this was going to be a long day. Batman got right to it wanting this over as soon as possible. He quickly talked them through a few of the moves before having Red Robin and Hood demonstrate them slowly before how it should look all together.

"This is a difficult move to get correct" Black Canary said taking the centre stage "So don't be surprised if you don't get it the first time. It'll take time and practice but hopefully by the end of this weekend you will hopefully have some down".

She quickly paired them off "Megan and Artemis. Conner and Kaldor. Wally and Red. Robin and Hood" Black Canary laughed as Red Robin instantly launched Wally into the air. Hood and Robin hadn't moved from where they were leaning against the Wall. "Hood, Robin what are you doing?" Batman said appearing next to them Hood just sneered while Robin said "We are observing Father. You said it is a good practice to learn and as we already know this skill we should work on something we have less strength in" Batman shook his head a hidden smirk coming over his features "Very well" he said walking back over to help Canary do some corrections.

"This is pathetic" Hood said shaking his head "This is basic stuff It makes me wonder what they have been doing up until now" Robin nodded his head in agreement "We are fortunate that our father is who he is."

A few hours later Hood was 100% done with this entire thing. He was completely loosing his mind the little teen heroes where making no progress and complained at everything they where supposed to do. He had no idea how Red could stand them, or how Batman didn't just hit sense into every single one of them. He was about to get Robin who had moved to the other side of the training area and make there escape when the Zeta Tube lit up but no designation ran out. "God Fuck dammit. I hate Slugs" A man that the Bats recognised instantly was bent over panting in the entrance of the tube.

When he stood up he froze before nodding his head "Well this is not where I was heading" he said slightly dazed. His eyes flicked over everyone before landing on Batman and instantly broke down into laughter "We have really got to stop meeting like this B" he spluttered. "How did you get in here?" Batman asked. The young man shrugged "Don't know I was just trying to get to central Gotham and yet here I am in..." he paused for a moment "Mount Justice Happy Harbour right?" he asked stepping down off the platform. "I guess my coding was off. I was in a hurry after all. Have you ever gone up against fire breathing slugs? It's horrific to see never mind have to actually go one on one against"

"I know who you are" Artemis finally said the boy looked over at her and nodded "That doesn't surprise me daughter of Sports Master and The Huntress. How is your mother?" Artemis froze before managing to get out "She is a lot better" the young man nodded "That's good to hear. I was there the night she got hurt. I helped make sure she didn't go to jail for her husbands' crimes. Ches says Hi by the way she heard I was coming down this way I told her I would pass along the message".

Artemis nodded he her eyes wide at the information "Thank you" she whispered voice breaking a little. "Well, this is a sad day" the boy said "My game has come to an end and all because I ran into the Sports Masters daughter." He stepped further into the room "I'm Shadow" he said in greeting and smiled when he saw Red Robin instantly using he wrist computer "But you won't find anything under that name" Artemis narrowed her eyes "Renegade" the boy quirked a smile at the horrified looks on everyone's face "Would it make you feel better if you tied me up?" Hood looked at him for a moment before speaking "You would let us do that?" the man now known as Shadow shrugged "Well I know you aren't gonna kill me worst case scenario is I get thrown in Arkham and I know im not going to kill you after saving your asses a couple weeks ago so you want to tie me up?" Batman cut in "That won't be necessary. I would put the mountain on lockdown but something tells me you could break that" the mans grin gave it all away.
