*Through the back gate, Ellie showed McGee the massive garden and tried her best to point out which plants were which, many just starting to bear the fruits of her Aunts labor in time before Summer. She was looking forward to all the freshly made meals they would have come then. As she entered through the back door, she gave McGee a tour of the main floor of the home. He was thankful that the evening sun made things that much easier to see and admire. The home was unlike anything he had ever been in before; new scents greeted him, all things he would surely get used to in time.

Soon, Ellie ascended the steps and pulled down the steps that led to her bedroom, climbing until she got to the top and was able to pull them back into the floor.*

ELLIE:
--and of course, you know my room already!

*She walked over to the desk and pulled out the new portfolio piece to put with the older one Mr. Martin gave her the other week.*

I'll figure out a good place to put these in time, but is right here good for now? Or should I place them on the floor?

*She felt her nerves kick up. The last thing she wanted to do was offend McGee or make him think he wasn't capable of looking after himself; she didn't want her goodwill gestures to come off as insults.*

MCGEE:
*He wasted no time walking like an acrobat along the French molding along the center of the wall between the girl's bed and her desk, making a little 'hup!' noise as he landed on the desk. He beamed excitably at the books on the woodwork.*

This is perfect! Nicky usually leaves my stuff on the bookshelf or his desk, so this is cozy for me if it is for you!

*He beamed up at her before he stopped.*

Are you okay there?

ELLIE:
*She felt as if she got caught, looking down at him with a tighter lip than she meant to.*

 Yeah! Why wouldn't I be?

MCGEE:
*He looked at her with concern.*

'Cause your face looks.... tense.

*He looked at the books on the desk, and he connected his own dots together, completely misunderstanding what he was actually reading from her expression.*

I... I'm sorry, is this too much? Too fast?

ELLIE:
W-what?

MCGEE:
Me, moving in with you? A-after only three lunches and a storm, but I thought-- but Nicky said--- and I--

*He was rambling, but his heart was aching. Was... was Nicholas right? Was this too much too soon? Maybe he was overstepping his boundaries? Did he make Ellie unhappy, and uncomfortable?! He started to pace, biting at his nails without his permission.*

ELLIE:
Woah, woah, McGee-- McGee!!

*She reached a hand out to scoop him up, holding him tightly to her chest and silencing him.*

No, no, not at all! I-I just want to make sure you're comfortable, that's all...!

*She pulled him out again and looked at him on her palm.*

Please, it's okay. I just want you to be comfortable, that's all!

MCGEE:
*His face was beat red as he tried to hide in his turtleneck.*

S-sorry, I just--I thought maybe I was being overbearing?

ELLIE:
*She shook her head more frantically than not.*

No, I--I just didn't want to offend you! I mean I should've known better; you've been doing this song and dance for years now, but I don't know exactly what Mr. Martin does and doesn't do for you--I just want to make sure things are perfect...

*She distracted herself by putting the flowers in the vase, bringing McGee with her.*

MCGEE:
Perfect? Pft--if Nicky made things perfect, well, I don't think I'd be here, now would I?

*He raised a brow up at her.*

Besides, perfect is for shmucks! If everything was perfect, life would be boring! It's exciting not knowing what going to happen next, dontcha think?
