The engagement day arrived sooner than expected. Rathore mansion was bubbling with happiness after so many years. Prathiba dressed in a elegant silk saree was talking with Sadhna (her sister in law). Excitement was clearly visible on her face after all it was her grandson's engagement ceremony. Abha was in Abadhay's room helping him out as the grown man was throwing tantrums like a toddler making his mother shake her head. Arohi and Maya were looking after guests along with Kabir , Arjun and Ruhaan. (Refer to Kal ho na ho to know who these people are!) Ayan was sitting on couch in Abadhay's room munching on some chips and enjoying the show as Abadhay was hell irritated and making faces every now and then. Abadhay bacha it's just a matter of 3-4 hours. Just wear this sherwani. I am not asking you to wear it in the office. On occasions like this one should dress up traditionally. Now stop making faces and go, get changed - Abha said pushing him inside the closet. Abadhay huffed and went inside glaring at Ayan who was stifling his laugh. ******** Isha helped Mahi in getting ready along with some beauticians . Mahi looked beautiful would be an understatement. She was looking out of the world. But Isha could sense the pain in her best friend eyes. She prayed to the god for her friends happiness. Nikhil who was surprised to know about her sisters sudden engagement when he returned from his college trip earlier this week was the most excited person in their house. He admired Abadhay like anything. He wished to be like him someday. Abadhay was his role model. Diii let's go everyone is waiting for you downstairs. We need to leave for Rathore mansion. Jiju must be waiting for you there . He said winking at the last line. Mahi smiled a little looking at her brother's excitement.
Rawat's got settled inside their cars with all the gifts and sweets loaded in the trunk as per the rituals. ******* Rathore and shekhawat family welcomed Rawat's warmly. They exchanged greetings. Abadhay greeted Mr. Prakash Rawat and his wife Pushpa Rawat by touching their feet. Nikhil grinned looking at Abadhay making him frown but the former introduced himself as his brother in law and how Abadhay was his role model. Abadhay looked at the boy with amusement and smiled slightly. Abadhay 's eyes met Mahi who was looking heavenly beautiful in her lengha and mahi was lost looking at his handsome face.

Abadhay and Mahi's dress .....
Abadhay and Mahi were made to sit beside each other on the stage . Priest chanted some mantras putting a Tilak on their forehead. Abha passed the ring 💍 to Abadhay patting his cheek and smiling wholeheartedly. She missed her husband but she won't cry as she didn't want to spoil her son's special day. Abadhay slipped the ring in Mahi's finger making everyone clap and hoot in the background. Pushpa pushed the ring inside Mahi's hand smiling every so sweetly. Mahi took the ring and looked at her father who nodded at her and smiled slightly. Mahi took a deep breath and made Abadhay wore the 💍 ring. They both looked at each other and Abadhay smirked at her pointing at the ring. Mahi averted her eyes and looked down to her lap. She was now officially his finance. She prayed to the god to give her strength and hope to embark on this new journey.
Abha kissed Mahi's forhead cupping her face. Now you are officially my daughter Abha said lovingly making Mahi smile genuinely for the first time. I am your son , you are supposed to love me first. I got engaged too. Abadhay said not liking the attention his mother was giving to mahi. Mahi looked at Abadhay surprised as she was looking at this side of him for the first time . The Rude and arrogant man was hell possesive of his mother like a 5 year old child . Abha chuckled and kissed her son too. Prathiba gave their ancestral jewellery to mahi . Mahi tried to deny but Prathiba forcefully gave her saying she kept it specifically for her granddaughter in law patting her head lovingly. Abadhay rolled his eyes looking at Mahi.
He excused himself and got down the stage . Mahi was sitting there looking at the guests feeling bored. Ruhi came there with some fruit juice for Mahi . Hiii Mahi, although we have met earlier but those were not the best circumstances to know each other. Ruhi spoke handling her the juice glass. Mahi remembered her as she saw her hugging Abadhay at the party and felt slightly uncomfortable thinking that she was his girlfriend and came here to warn her or something. Mahi took the glass nodding at Ruhi slightly. So, I am his cousin sister and your only sister in law. And the man there in blue suit is my husband Aakash. Ruhi said pointing at a handsome man dressed in Blue suit. Mahi visibly relaxed and mentally scolded her self for judging Ruhi . Come with me, I have a surprise for you. Ruhi said getting up and asking Mahi to come along. Mahi look confused but got up nonetheless following Ruhi. Ruhi took her upstairs and entred a big room. Mahi walked in and was surprised to find Abadhay already present there. You own me this one little brother remember that ...Ruhi said winking at Abadhay and walked out of the room smiling at Mahi . Mahi stood there fidgeting with her fingers. She felt nervous to be in the same room as him.
