- I'm back!
Thunder crashed in the night.
- Perfect timing.
- Yeah it looks like it...
Jennifer closed the door as rain started pouring.
- Go wash your hands. Dinner is almost ready.
She went upstairs, washed her hands and changed back to her comfy clothes.
- Hey!
- Ah!
Once she got out of her room, her brother jumped right in front of her. Same as always, his headphones were around his neck. His dark black hair was swept to the side, almost covering one of his eyes.
"What do you want?" Jennifer asked with an exhausted voice. "What do you mean? I just wanted to say hello to my sister!" Her brother responded innocently. But his cheeky grin gave him away.
- No you didn't! You barely talk to me unless you want something from me!
"Fine." He gave up. "Can I borrow your charger?"
- No
- Why???
- Bro, you got everything in your room! What do you need my charger for???
He started swinging back and forth on his feet.
- For... something...
- Nope.
- Oh come on!
Jennifer crossed her arms. "I'm not going to sacrifice my charger for one of your crazy music experiments." She said with her 'older sister' voice.
- Whaaat? No waay! I'm not doing any of those! I gave up on them a loong time ago.
- Yeah sure.
- W...
"Kids! Dinner is ready!" Their mum called out from the kitchen before he could finish his protest. Jennifer gave her brother a look of victory before going downstairs.
The family of three sat down at the table. "Your dad arrived in Stockholm." Their mother announced while pouring some soup in each person's bowl. "I already miss him."
The youngest child scoffed. "It's going to be a hard time for you then." His mother sighed and finally sat down to eat. "At least we have Penny."
They all looked at their brown furry poodle who was happily chewing on her toy. Suddenly, she stopped and stood still, looking at the door. After a second she stood up and dashed to the door, barking loudly.
"What happened?" Jennifer stood up and went to calm the barking poodle down. "Come on girl! Hush! What happened? Is the rain scaring you?"
But Penny wouldn't listen. She somehow managed to open the door with her paws and ran outside.
- NO!
The whole family freaked out. Jennifer quickly put on her raincoat and followed.
It was really dark outside. It was really hard to see and the pouring rain didn't help at all.
Jennifer started shouting the dog's name but all she could hear was the sound of the rain, her footsteps and the cars that passed once in a while.
The rain got even worse. Jennifer's hair was drenched, as if she had just taken a shower. She decided to go back and keep looking tomorrow, but then she stopped. Then she realized. She was lost. Again!
Jennifer looked through her pockets desperately hoping to find her phone, but she left so quickly that she had forgotten to take anything other than her raincoat. She just had to rely on her instincts now. But it was pitch black and rain was pouring.
She hoped for the best and started walking in a random direction when a hand suddenly took hers. She screamed.
"Shhh! Follow me!" Said a familiar voice. It wasn't very loud but could somehow be heard through the rain. Jennifer recognized the voice and followed.
All through their walk, the hand was the only thing that led Jennifer. After a while, she finally saw some dim light. They were in front of a building.
There was a 'click' sound and light poured out as the door opened.
