The men became more alert and two of them trained their guns at the table while the leader had his gun pointed at Nanna, as the injured man closed in on the table and kicked the table away.
Previously hiding under the table were two now shivering girls. With one trying to suppress her sobs and the other holding a knife in hand pointed out.
Earlier after the flinging the content of the cabinet, a table knife had slid under the table and hit Selina's fingers, she had cried out before Scarlett could cover her mouth.
Scarlett knew they were gonna be discovered soon, so she prepared to stand as soon as they were revealed. She didn't have time to console the crying Selina before the table was flung away and they both stood with Scarlett standing at Seline front and Selina clutching tightly onto Scarlett dress at her back.
The appearance of the girls shocked everyone in the room but for different reasons, Nanna was more scared than shocked seeing that the girls had been revealed. She really wished she had taped Selina's mouth before coming out.
The men were shocked and pleasantly surprised cause they found their mission target after giving you hope of completing their mission. Now they've managed to complete it and their ticket out of there was guaranteed.
They were hired hands whose mission was to abduct the daughter of the Jones couple. When they got to her room, she wasn't there and they accidentally triggered a security alarm, blowing their cover.
" Hahaha who would have thought that after searching everywhere we didn't find her but she fell into our hands without us trying, hahaha" the stout man laughed out loud. He now appeared less cranky than he was and it was the same for the others as they were no longer worried.
The men's view of the girls was suddenly blocked. Nanna had ran to the girls side and stood protectively in from of them with arms outstretched.
" I will not allow you to touch the girls, you'd have to go over my dead body to get them" Nanna said fearlessly should one overlook her shaking hands.
She knew from the stout man words that they were here for one of the girls and we're not thieves like she had initially thought.
" Haha do you think we care about your life, move aside" the stout man approached and pushed her away hard causing her to hit her head on the kitchen slab.
" Nanna!!" Scarlett and Selina shouted for Nanna who was currently bleeding on the head.
" I..I'm fine " Nanna replied as she groggily stood up. She gave a smile to reassure the girls but it frightened them as they could see blood oozing out of her forehead and trailing down her face. She made to go to them only to be stopped by silent guy 1 who had a gun pointed to her head.
" Move and I'll blow your skull open" he said and pressed the nuzzle of the gun to her head and unlocked the safety pin, causing her to freeze up.
The stout man moved his attention away from Nanna and bent to the eye level of the girls with what he perceived as a kind smile but looked very scary.
Seeing that his smile's effect was not as he desired, he stopped smiling.
"Now comes the tricky part, which one of them is our mission target?" He turned to ask his teammates temporarily taking his attention off the girls.
" The mission description was that she was very beautiful but", he gestured towards them, "they both are".
" From our investigation, we found out that the Jones couple had only one child and now there are two girls her , so which one of them is she" the injured man who was treating his injury with the first aid kit he saw.
Scarlett stood up and pulled Selina up as they slowly backed away. The men saw them back away but paid them no heed.
" Just ask her" The leader said pointing his chin toward Nanna's direction.
The silent guy pressed the gun closer to Nanna and asked.
" Which one of them is Selina Jones" but Nanna maintained her silence as she widened her eyes to glare at him.
In annoyance, he hid her head with the butt of the gun.
"Ahck" Nanna cried out as she staggered on her feet but lost her footing as as she drew closer to the floor. Silent guy 1 held her by the hands and rudely yanked her to her feet.
Still holding her, he hit her again but she still firmly kept quiet.
" Nooo! stop it, stop hitting her" Scarlett shouted with anger visible on her features. But the man did not listen and hit her
" I see you got a thick skull there" he said as he pointed the nuzzle back to her with his hands on the trigger. He was really running thin on patience.
" Fucking answer us woman"
"mmhg mmph" she had bit on her tongue to stop herself from screaming in pain.
" In that case you're useless to us"
The gun suddenly slipped from his and he fell to the ground. He was knocked off balance. He looked up to see what hit him an saw one of the little girls before him.
It was Scarlett. When she saw the man aim his gun at Nanna she rushed over and rammed into him. Causing him to loose his balance.
Scarlett stood protectively in front of Nanna. She picked up the gun that fell to her side aiming it at the man's head.
" D..Don't move"
The room fell to a pin drop silence, even Selina had stopped sobbing.
Before now, when Scarlett was still with Selina when the man first hit Nanna.
" Selina, listen to me" she whispered quietly to Selina.
" Hick..sob..sob I'm sorry, it's all my fault" Selina quietly sobbed as she apologize. She had been doing so since they were revealed.
" Stop crying and listen to me very carefully"
" I'm going to go over and help Nanna, I want you to stay under the table"
" What!" Selina raised her voice a little but thankfully nobody was paying attention to them.
" Shh speak softly" Scarlett said pacing her finger to her lips.
" I want you to stay under the table, here take this, Incase anyone comes close to you, just swing it at them" she pushed a kitchen knife to her hand.
" Are you not scared, it's dangerous there. Just stay here with me, don't leave me" Selina held the knife with one hand and tugged at Scarlett's dress with the other.
" I AM scared but I have to help Nanna. She's suffering because she doesn't want to tell them the truth. So I have to at least do something." Scarlett said resolutely.
" What are you going to do?" She did not know why but at that moment, she believed Scarlett could do something to save them.
After she she had shouted, she had started to leave Nanna alone, she had already prepared to rush over. And now we have the current scene where a ten year old girl had a again pointed at someone many fold her age. Leaving everyone speechless.
" And what are you going to do with that little girl" the silent guy stared Scarlett down.
" I..I'll shoot you, so do d..don't move" came her nervous reply.
The man ignored Scarlett's word and made to stand up. He reached out for the gun and tried to drag it from her.
" Let go of it right now, this is not a toy for you to play with" trying to stop the dodging girl.
" I know what it is and I'm not afraid to use it, so you better do as I say" as she swerved to the right to escape the man's hand.
" No!! Behind you Scarlett" Selina from her position saw the stout man inching close to Scarlett and shouted a warning.
The man had reached her side by now, so she moved to her left to avoid him but the silent guy was there. She was trapped and she felt suffocated. So she did the only thing she could think of. She closed her eyes tightly and pulled the trigger.
