Three distinct gunshots rang out and the room once again fell into silence.
" I..I..I did...didn't* sob* mean...mean to.to.to..*sob* you ma...made me. I said to stop *sob* but you wouldn't *sob* " Scarlett was shocked, her hands that held the gun were shaking.

Of the three gunshots, one had hit the stout man's palm and the other two found their way into the right eye and stomach of the silent guy 1.

The silent guy was the closest to her; he had bent down to collect the gun and was unfortunately at eye level with the gun when she shot. The bullet had pierced his brain through the eyes.

*Thud* the sound of a heavy object making an impact on the floor.

The silent guy slumped to the ground, breathless. The stout man bent to check his condition.

"He's dead," he announced as he released a shaky breath. It could have been him instead. The look he gave Scarlett became fearful; he didn't think she had the guts to pull the trigger.

"NO, I... I didn't mean to kill him, I was just... just try... trying to*Blergh * Blergh" Scarlett dropped the gun in shock as her face completely lost its color and she bent over to puke her guts out.

She bore the gun's recoil impressively without losing her hands. Amid her puking, she looked toward Selina, but all she could see on her features was fear.

*Blergh, Blergh* she continued until she puked all the contents of her stomach. She wished someone could embrace her and tell her that it wasn't her fault. Her Nanna would have, but she had long fainted.

At this time, Nanna began recovering her consciousness. When she finally came to, she looked around anxiously for the girls. She looked at Scarlet to see her puking, the bloodstained gun on the floor, and the dead man in front. She put two and two together and figured out what happened.

"No, what... what happened here" Nanna placed her hands over her mouth in shock, refusing to believe the evidence in front of her.

She tried to go close to Scarlett, who was currently dry heaving, as there was nothing left in her stomach to puke out. She wanted to hug her and tell her everything will be okay, even if she didn't believe so herself, but she didn't get the chance to.

Silent Guy 2 grabbed from behind her and the stout man picked up the gun from the ground, while the injured man held onto Selina.

"No, let go of me *sob* let go ahh. I didn't do anything *sob*, let me down" Selina screamed and thrashed in resistance. Scarlet didn't have any reaction to being picked up. The scene that just occurred was playing on repeat in her ear. She didn't even notice that her nanny was now conscious.

"F*** this mission, we've lost so many men all because of some stupid girl," the leader bellowed in anger. He cocked his gun and pointed it at Nanna.

"Tell me who the f****** girl is, NOW!!"

"......." Nanna looked up at him fearfully but did not speak

*Bang* he shot at her.

"AHHHHH" Nanna held her legs and cried out in pain. She placed her hand on it to try o stop the blood from flowing but failed. The pain was too much to bear.

"NOO! NANNA!" Selina screamed in shock.

"Start talking or the next one is going to blow your head of" the man said while staring at her coldly. All this trouble, just because of this woman and some little girls. But Nanna still didn't talk, making him once more aim his gun at her as Nanna fearfully looked up, knowing that this was going to be the end of her. She just prays they save the girls after she's gone.

"STOP, it's......" Selina was saying.

"It's me." Scarlet cut her off. She had snapped out of it when she saw that Nanna was shot.

It wasn't as if they hadn't tried to ask the girls, but they had kept silent and they didn't want to hurt their potential target. One of the requirements of the mission was that the girl was uninjured.

"No!!, she's not the one. She's lying" Nanna screamed, she rather they take Selina than Scarlett, especially not in her condition.

"It's me. I'm Selina Jones," Scarlett said once more affirmatively.

"So you don't have to shoot her again and you can let her go," she addressed to the Leader.

"See, was that so fucking hard? But now that we've found our target, there's no need for any witnesses," a cruel light flashed in his eyes. As he enjoyed the look of disbelieve in Scarlett's eye.

"What? Did you think I was gonna let them go just cause you revealed " He gave a smug smile with his hands on the trigger.

"Leader, we have company," Silent guy 2 interrupted. He had been on the lookout for a while now. After he said that, the leader placed his hands to his ears, seemed like someone was communicating with him.

"It seems like the Jones couple are back. Lucky you," he said as he tucked his gun back in his holster. He then gestured for the one holding Selina to drop her.

The leader commanded the group to depart after the stout man knocked Scarlett unconscious and gave her to the only other uninjured member. They had readied an escape route.

The last thing she saw and heard was her nanny's face covered with tears and she screaming out for her before she lost her consciousness.

"Boss, what should we do about them" stout man gestured toward the screaming Nanna and the crying Selina with his now bandaged palm.

"You won't get away with this," Nanna said in an attempt to stop them, but they paid her no heed as they headed out of the kitchen and out of the house. Their silhouettes fading into the night.
