Surprise!!!! I got another chapter done. Enjoy :)
I stood underneath the high tech jet of water and marveled at everything in my life. The walls of the shower were lined with bars that shot out an adjustable pressure of H2O. Everything was controlled with the touch of a finger and I could not help, but button with all of the available options.
"Whirlpool?" My eyebrows scrunched together as I read over the option. Determined to discover all of the secrets of the magical bathroom, I clicked on the setting.
I heard a click and spun to face the direction of the noise. The door to the shower locked into place and the walls of the shower pulled apart to reveal more panels. The room rearranged itself into a cylindrical shape and water began to shoot out of jets along the bottom of the bathhouse. Rapidly, the liquid filled the tub and I panicked as it rose to my waist, not showing any signs of stopping. I banged on the opaque glass in a desperate attempt to escape. The water continued to rise until it reached my chin and as suddenly as it had started, it stopped. I stood frozen in place, the moving water finally calmed down and I let out a sigh of relief.
However, that was not the end of it. I heard a low buzz and slowly, the water began to spin.
I guess this is the whirl part of it, I thought grimly.
The fluid spun faster and faster and soon, I felt it begin to pull me with it. I let out a high pitched scream and pounded on the glass siding with as much force as I could muster.
"Help! Anyone, help!!"
But the whirlpool kept spinning, faster and faster. Water splashed at my face constantly and I feared that that was the end. I felt the liquid go into my nose and my vision blackened.
I heard a beep and suddenly, the whirlpool immediately ceased to spiral and the water quickly drained, leaving me slumped over myself on the floor, coughing up the dangerous liquid.
Click!
The clicking noise sounded again and the door unlocked, sliding open. Using whatever energy I could scrape up, I dragged my body towards the light of the exit. A towel was thrown on my head before I could get a chance to look outside and I snatched it up, wrapping it around myself.
Slowly, but surely, I lifted my body up, hands gripping onto whatever support they could find. My hair fell into my eyes, preventing me from seeing the visitor. My fingers moved to push it out of the way and behind my ears.
"What were you thinking? You could have killed yourself?" A familiar masculine tone inquired in an aggravated tone.
I instinctively pulled the towel tighter around my torso.
"I bet you would've loved that," I snapped back.
An odd look crossed his face, but he did not justify my comment with a response.
"Whatever," I grumbled.
"What? No 'thank you?'"
"How did you even hear me? The rooms are soundproof, according to Lauren."
"I'm Fear, remember? I sensed your fear and came to check on you."
"My savior," I replied with the most bitter sarcasm as I could muster. Fear stood propped against a metallic sink, humor twinkling in his eyes. His mouth was twisted in an amused smile and arms were crossed over his broad chest. He had changed out of his black super costume and had exchanged it for a black Armani suit, similar to his father's. The mask remained on his face and I could not help but feel a little disappointed that his identity was still unknown. I was glad he had dropped the black fog; I could finally get a good look at his piercing green eyes and glistening black hair. He had just showered because I saw droplets of water fall from his head. He stared at me intensely and soon, I wriggled, feeling uncomfortable under his judgmental gaze. "What are you doing?"
