Days Ago...
I cut, chopped, split, and stacked wood endlessly until my arms bulged with growing muscles and I had rough calluses up and down my fingers. At least it made jerking off slightly more pleasurable, I should invent cock tugging gloves or something. I'd be a millionaire.
That was the only way I'd been able to deal with Kairos Empire's last visit. The only way I'd been able to pass the time without giving into wolf and going full feral.
You shouldn't have let her go, wolf grunted inside. It was so close to his time, I felt him ready to burst out of me any day.
"I know, you goddamn bastard," I barked back, swinging the axe. It hit the tree with a satisfying thud and I heard the wood crack. "I fucking know that already, you fucking fuck."
Another thud and another crack. Frustration surged in my head and slammed the axe into a tree next to me, picked up the wood, grasped it on either side, and tore it apart down the middle where the axe had already weakened it.
Impressive, wolf said, and for once I didn't think he was mocking me.
"Thanks," I replied, tossing the wood into the pile near the UTV.
And then without warning, I saw Kairos Empire step out of midair in front of me.
My mouth hung open in shock, and I think I managed to close it as she turned around and spotted me. I hope I did. I didn't want to leave her with that image in her head.
Wolf leaped up and roared to life, taking control of my mouth and he growled, "Are you here to deny me again?"
He continued, but I gained control back, finishing the second sentence for the both of us. Was she here to rub it in? Was she laughing at my predicament? She might be, she held all the cards here.
She denied it of course, but I believed her. Even wolf was settled by her reply. She smelled honest, she didn't give out a spike of pungent chemical that indicated a lie.
"Are you asleep?" I asked, stepping close to her.
"No, I'm hiding," she said. "Wait, it's day here and day there. How is that?"
"Time and space both have no meaning. You came to where your heart wanted to go," I replied. "You came to me where you knew me best, to these fucking woods with all these fucking trees."
Wolf couldn't handle the small talk. As much as he wanted to take over completely, it angered him that I played nice with the one the wood witch warned me about. The wood witch who'd stopped me when I was a child and had given me the warning that I'd end up in the wilds, alone and miserable, until my early death.
I'd never believed it, truly, because those fucking creatures always lied. But the thought of it got to wolf. He hated the idea of never having a pack of his own. Of being a lone member of a dying group that once had been plentiful.
We crossed the lands and took your bodies, we wore them like cloaks and we killed and fucked as much as we wanted, wolf said right before he took his chance from me.
"I'm not a fool!" he howled and ranted in her beautiful face using my voice. He told her too much, and he terrified her. She poised herself to run from us.
And then she surprised me and shocked wolf enough to silence his ranting babble deep in my chest.
She stood on her toes and kissed me.
Fuck, I could have lost myself in that kiss. I could have spent an eternity there with her mouth on mine and my tongue in hers. I could have lived a thousand lives in the space between heartbeats, in the breath I inhaled out of her lungs.
