Meeting the Team

*Beep! Beep! Beep!*

Lukas's phone alarm went off in the early morning. He awoke and tiredly reached for his phone, mustering up all the energy he had to open his eyes and look at the time.

"8:00 AM" His phone read. Ocean had told Lukas to meet her at The Reef by 8:30, so he would be introduced to the rest of his new team and they would get to know each other more before they officially started doing battles together. Lukas was tired, VERY tired. He wasn't used to waking up this early all that much, but he managed to gain enough energy to get out of bed and ready himself up. Soon enough, that tiredness turned into confidence and excitement once again. Once he was done, Lukas grabbed his N-Zap '85 and was about to head out the door, but he hesitated. What was supposed to be filled with confidence had some hints of nervousness in it. Lukas was a bit scared to meet the other members, he had no idea what they would be like. He took a deep breath and calmed himself down, telling himself that they were Ocean's friends, meaning she must really like them. He then exited out of his apartment and headed for The Reef.

About 15 minutes later, Lukas arrived at The Reef. Since it was his 2nd day in Inkopolis, he was still a bit starstruck by everything, but he quickly snapped out of it and looked around for Ocean. That's when he spotted her, standing by the bridge at the center of the stage by herself with her back to him, she was humming a popular Squid Sisters song. Lukas began to feel a bit warm again, but he didn't notice it as it was subtle. As he made his way towards her, she turned around and saw Lukas. A big smile formed on her face and she dashed towards him happily. 

"Lukas! You came!" She cheered, as she took his hands and twirled him around. It was from this action that he began to feel a little warmer, but he brushed it off as just him excited to see her again. "Of course I came! I wouldn't miss it for the world." Lukas responded excitedly. Ocean giggled, then let go of his hands and said "I'm really glad you found me and decided to be a part of this team! I hope my two bestest friends and you, my new friend, will get along really well." Lukas looked around, but he didn't see anyone else but her.

"Forgive me Ocean, but where are your other friends?" Lukas asked curiously. Ocean continued to smile and simply said "They're just hiding. Sorry, we don't get a lot of new faces very often", still keeping her smile. Just then, the two of them heard footsteps from around a corner and they turned their heads. "Look, here's one of them right now!" Ocean said happily in response. 

An octoling boy stepped out from around the corner very hesitantly. He had cyan-colored ink with the mohawk hairstyle. He wore the White Headband, Pirate-Stripe Tee, and the Hunter Hi-Tops with a pair of gray socks. Lukas also took notice of a bandaid on his right cheek. The octoling boy tried to step closer, but Lukas could tell he was really nervous.

"You can come over now. Don't worry, he's friendly." Ocean tried to reassure the octoling boy, but he was still too scared to approach, he was just hugging the corner. Lukas then took a few steps towards the octoling boy and held out his hand. "Hey, it's okay. I won't hurt you, I promise." Lukas said gently, which caused the octoling boy to take a few steps towards him. Ocean watched in amazement and excitement with her hands held together. The octoling boy eventually reached Lukas and grabbed onto his hand. Lukas held the octoling boy's hand and reassured him, "See? I'm your friend." which caused the octoling boy to give him a small smile. 

After Lukas let go of the octoling boy's hand, the octoling boy spoke. "Cyan. M-My name." The octoling said, trying to sound as brave as he could. Lukas chuckled and said "That's a very cool name, Cyan. It's nice to meet you." while holding his hand out in a fist shape waiting for a fist bump. Cyan didn't know what that was, instead he held onto Lukas's fist and just shook it. Lukas was a bit confused, but found it very amusing and couldn't help by chuckle a bit. "Your name. What is..?" Cyan asked Lukas. "The name's Lukas. With a K." Lukas responded, as he smiled and winked at Cyan. Cyan did the same thing to Lukas.
