It's been about a month since Lukas moved to Inkopolis, and he's been having the time of his life there. There was so much to see and do, stuff he wished he could've experienced sooner. From sightseeing, to shopping, to doing turf or ranked battles, he cherished every moment of it and always looked forward to doing it again and again. Despite all those activities, he had the most fun with his team members and new friends, Ocean, Beta, and Cyan.

Ever since Lukas became the newest member of Team Sea Splash, he's been welcomed with open arms by them and they've helped him a lot when it came to adjusting to the city life. During the past month, he began to warm up to each of the members a lot more. He enjoys Ocean's upbeat and energetic personality, he has learned to deal with Beta's shenanigans, and has started having a really close, almost brotherly, relationship with Cyan, and has even helped Cyan with learning the Inkling language more. His life was going to be perfect from now on, and things were only going to get better from here. He hoped that would be the case at least.

On this particular day, the four of them were sitting at one of the tables near the Crust Bucket Food Truck discussing their game plan for the next couple of days. After several days of partaking in battles together, they all decided to take some time off from all that battling and just spend time with each other.

"I heard there's a sale happening at Arowana Mall, we should go and treat ourselves!" Ocean suggested with excitement and enthusiasm in her voice and body language. Beta had to disagree. "Ocean sweetie, you're just gonna spend too much cash on plushies and merchandise to decorate your apartment with." she responded playfully.

"But I promise I won't spend so much this time!" Ocean tried to reassure, but Beta could see right through her. "Remember 2 weeks ago when you bought that giant Judd Plushie? And I had to pay for it cause you ran out of Cash from buying a bunch of T-shirts the same day?" Beta brought up with a smirk and an eyebrow raise. "Oh..right..forgot about that, hehe." Ocean said bashfully. The two best friends then giggled to each other.

As the two girls were discussing, Cyan took a glance over at Lukas and saw that he was sifting through a pamphlet he took that detailed all the fun things to do in Inkopolis. However, Cyan noticed Lukas had a face of intrigue and was really focused on one of the pages.

"What Lukas looking at?" Cyan asked him. Lukas snapped back into reality and turned to Cyan. "Wha-? Oh, it's nothing Cyan. Just kinda curious about what Salmon Run is." Lukas responded. At those words, Cyan, Ocean, and Beta all turned to each other. "You haven't heard of Salmon Run before? It's pretty popular around here." Ocean asked Lukas as she took the pamphlet from him read through the Salmon Run section. "Not really. Why? What's so important about it?" Lukas asked his friends. "Salmon Run isn't just some fun battle like Turf War, it's all about splatting those yucky salmonids and getting paid for it~" Beta explained as she slowly walked behind Lukas. "Actually, more about egg getting, less about salmon splatting. Over at Grizzco industries" Cyan tried to explain as he pointed in the direction of Grizzco.

Lukas had heard about the salmonids and the part time jobs over at Grizzco before he moved to Inkopolis, but he didn't think young inklings and octolings were the ones actually doing the job considering how potentially dangerous and stressful it could be. "Should that be what we do today?" Ocean asked everyone. Beta gave a small thumbs and Cyan got out of his seat to signify him being ready. Lukas figured it wouldn't be too hard since others have done it before, and his friends were all down, so why not give it a try? "Let's do it!" Lukas said with confidence. The four of them then walked towards Grizzco Industries.

Ocean, Beta, and Cyan stepped inside to talk to the bear-shaped radio that was apparently Mr. Grizz. Just as Lukas was about to step inside, he heard a small rustling in the piles of trash just outside of Grizzco. He paused for a moment and looked over to where the rustling came from, but it stopped. He waited quietly to see if it would rustle again, but nothing. Ocean then called for him to come inside to try on the uniforms. Thinking it was probably just his imagination, Lukas decided to ignore the rustling and walked inside, where he got to try on the uniform, learn the basics of Salmon Run, and soon enough, he was off on his first shift with his friends.
