The Addams Family. You've heard of them, right? If not, Google them. Now. Otherwise it would be pointless telling you this.

Well, if you're too much of a lazy ass to look it up, I just want you to know that they're this family that were...well,different from the typical families in this small town.

Here, typical families lived in glorious houses with perfectly manicured lawns, dressed like everyday was a party, and acted as if they lived in a snowglobe where everything was always perfect.

Well, not the Addams family. Like I said, they're different. I don't know exactly how I could explain it, but put it this way: Typical families don't always wear dark clothing. They don't live at the edge of town surrounded by thick forest where the weather always seemed to be dark and gloomy. They didn't have their own cemetary in their own backyard. And they definitely, did not have children who caused physical and mental torment and treated it as a fun activity. How do I know all these?

Cause I'm one of them. I'm an Addams.

My name is Raven Jade Addams; daughter of Morticia and Gomez Addams, sibling of Pugsley, Pubert, and Wednesday Addams, niece of Fester Addams, and granddaughter of Grandmama.

I'm writing about my life cause mother said that unless Grandmama finally figures out how to whip up a potion that could make a human immortal, I have to write about my life so in the future I could remember important stuff. Like my family, I have skin that was so pale it almost seemed transparent,  have dark hair, and wears dark clothing everyday.

But believe it or not, that was my only resemblance to the notorious Addams family. Instead of having dark, intimidating eyes, I have bright, green ones. Instead of being talented at causing torment and trouble to unsuspecting civilians, I'm multitalented--but not in an Addams way.

I could speak fourteen different languages from the mansion's library, can play every musical instrument

known to man due to the mansion's massive music room, and get away with anything unnoticed. And that night was no different. I crept down the dark hall in the mansion and leaned towards the door of my parents' bedroom. I heard them talking in hushed voices.

"Morticia, I'm telling you," I heard my father saying as he paced the floor on the other side. "We need to get Raven to the doctor. She needs special treatment immediately!"

"Gomez," my mother said, her voice strained. "I am going to tell you this again: Raven does not need a doctor. She's just...a bit late. She's just 16 years old, after all."

"But Tish," my father persisted. "Wednesday didn't even go through this when she was born. And neither did Pugsley nor Pubert. Hell, even Grandmama says she's never seen anyone like her!"

"Gomez, darling, you must be patient." My mother replied, but it sounded as if she was comforting herself more than father. "The time will come..."

Not wanting to hear more, I suppressed a sigh and walked quietly to my room. As I passed the massive staircase, I bumped into my sister: Wednesday. She was just a month older than I was. How I came after her when we could've just been born on the same day was a mystery. Then again, nearly everything about the Addams was a mystery. Wednesday and I could've really been twins cause of our similar appearances if only it wasn't for my eyes--my bright, green eyes.

"The ball starts at midnight," she said coldly, like always. "You have 15 minutes to get ready. Mother and father said the guests are going to arrive soon."

I nodded and retreated back to my room to avoid another argument. Wednesday always acted cold towards me, although I didn't know why. Ever since we were kids, she would act as if I weren't part of the family. She says that I "don't look like an Addams" so she wouldn't treat me like one.
