Hate. Fight. Tension. Friends. Lovers. Strangers ... who only exist in each other's memories.
Two days. It's been two days since the mission and two days since I almost died. I haven't come out of my room since. I've been terrified. I barely ate or slept. Every time I close my eyes, I dream of falling. I fall and fall.
Two knocks and my door opened. I was taken back by the fact that it was Niall who came to my room.
"Hey." He said sitting next to me.
"Hey." I mumbled.
"Haven't seen you around." He commented.
I nodded in silence.
"Adam lied in the car didn't he?" he asked.
My heart started beating fast, but I kept my face neutral.
"What lie?"
"You've never been on a mission before."
I looked at him.
"You wouldn't react like this, if you have." He said.
"I almost died."
"We all did. In many missions. To the point where it's normal now. But you have never been on a mission. You were daddy's princess."
I sighed looking down.
"It's alright. You'll get used to it."
I looked at him again. He stood up and offered his hand.
"For now" he said helping me standing up.
"Change. We're going out."
"Out?" I asked.
"Me and you are gonna go out. You need change of scenery. I'll be waiting for you outside." He said and left the room.
I met him by his car.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To the club."
Oh yeah, Alberto owns a few clubs in the town. We did our full research on them.
When we arrived, Niall nodded at the security who nodded back and let us in. We walked straight to the VIP section.
"Shall we start wit your Vodka shots?" Niall teased.
I smiled lightly and shrugged. He smirked and signalled one of the bartenders. He ordered two shots and two beers. We took our shots once it arrived and went to drinking beers.
"You were right. I needed a change of scenery." I said.
He nodded taking a sip of his beer. A girl walked toward us and she started dancing. Not for me, but for Niall. He was not impressed at all. The girl walked closer but he raised his hand and stopped her. He gave her one look and she rushed away.
"That poor girl wanted to dance for you." I said.
"She can dance for others." He shrugged and finished his drink.
"Have you ever been in a relationship?" I asked.
"Do just flings count?" he asked looking ahead.
"Depends. Are those the only relationships you had?"
"Yeah. Two flings for the sake of our businesses. Dated for a month or two and called it off." Still not making eye contact.
"And they were okay with that?"
"Yeah. They were in the same business after all."
"So you never had a real relationship? Someone who you truly loved?"
"I guess not." He shrugged.
"No one ever interested you?"
He stared at me. For a long time with no words spoken.
"Mr Horan, welcome." An anonymous man said and broke the silence. We both faced him.
"John." Niall nodded at him.
"My apologies. Didn't know you had a guest." He said offering me a handshake.
"Riley this is John the manager of the club. John, this is Riley." Niall introduced us.
"Nice meeting you." John said.
"Nice meeting you too." I said shaking his hand with a polite smile on my face.
"Well just wanted to say welcome. I'll leave you two be." John said.
Niall nodded at him, and John walked away.
"Do you know how to dance?" Niall asked.
"You're telling me that I was drunk and did not dance?" I asked mocking myself.
He smiled lightly.
"Drunk dance doesn't count."
"Well." I rose up.
"Not saying I'm hundred percent sober, but I am not that drunk." I swayed my hips for him.
