"Robin Hood?" Henry asked, puzzled to see who was behind the front door.
"Is your mother home?" He asked awkwardly. Surely Henry was aware of their situation. He had been there at the party.
Henry nodded and turned to see his mother standing by the stairs. An unpleasant look masking her face.
"Regina, please, we need to talk." He added sincerely.
"I'm just going to go get ice cream with Emma..." Henry stated, heading out the door.
"Not too late, we have dinner tonight." Regina called out to him.
"Regina, please hear me out. Last night was unexpected, but I at least deserve a say on the matter."
Regina exhaled through her nose. Evil Queen slash Madame Mayor, she always had the last word. However, something told her she needed to hear this. Her heart still had a light flicker of butterflies from his tender voice saying her name. Finally she nodded, her eye contact on the floor.
"Until yesterday, I believed Marian was dead. Seeing her, seeing Roland's face..."
"I understand." Regina responsed.
"No you don't. I love you Regina, I can't lose you, but Roland needs his mother, and right now she needs me."
"So what are you asking for?"
"Time. Time to adjust. Time for Roland to adjust to having his mother back, time for Marian to adjust to Storybrooke, time to adjust to us..."
Us... how uneasy yet satisfying those words sounded. After being alone for many years, Regina thought perhaps show could finally settle with someone. As cold as she tried to appear to be, she had a heart, and several times had it been crushed. Now, she was ready to begin a new life chapter, with someone new.
Regina nodded, smiling slightly. "I do understand Robin, and I'm willing to take things slow for the time being."
Robin smiled before crossing the small space between them. He wrapped his arm around her waist, and tilted her head back, kissing her for the life of him.
Time was all they needed. Together.
