Feelings

Could it all have been one miraculously, too-good-to-be-true, lovely dream? To him, it sure felt like a dream. Finally free, making new friends, and saving Paris.
Marinette... if it all was a dream, he didn't want to wake up. Looking into her eyes made him feel safe and free. She reminded him of his mother, in fact.

"Good morning, Adrien," a small, soothing voice said drowsily.
"Tikki?" Adrien thought he was hearing things. This didn't feel like a dream at all.
"Yes?" Tikki replied, "I'm here, Adrien," she floated up above him so he could see her.
"So it wasn't a dream," he confirmed, and Tikki laughed.
"Nope! It was all real, and you saved Paris for now." For now, she says...

Nathalie walked in, and informed Adrien his schedule for the day.
"You have fencing lessons after school from 6:00-7:00, Chinese lessons from 7:30-8:00, and a late photoshoot at 10:00."
"Thank you, Nathalie," Adrien got out of bed after she left the room and showered.

Marinette woke up to a stench of camembert cheese right in front of her. She saw the black blob swallow a whole slice in just a mere second.
"Plagg, its too early for this," she mumbled and pulled the covers over her.
"Oh well, I guess you could stay here if you want to be late for school," Plagg ate another slice.
"Wait... WHAT?!" Marinette panicked and checked her phone. She still had plenty of time, it was only 7:03. "Plagg!"
He laughed and floated back down.
Might as well get up anyway, she groaned.

When she got downstairs, her parents had already prepared breakfast. Some croissants and buttered bread (and most likely camembert somewhere, since Plagg kept sniffing out something).

"I forgot to ask how school went yesterday," Sabine said to Marinette, "Although, from what I could tell, it must've been an amazing day," her mother pointed to the black umbrella near the door.
"Huh? No! It's not like that," Marinette protested. "It was raining, so this boy offered his umbrella. Nothing special!"
"Aww, it sounds like true love!" her father smiled.
"It is NOT true love!" she continued denying it, "I don't even like him like that! He's just some famous teen loved by everyone, so he's probably a spoiled brat deep down like Chloe," Marinette took a croissant and left.

"I have a feeling that not all of what you said was true," Plagg said suspiciously.
Marinette sighed, "Okay, I admit, I don't actually think he's a spoiled brat."
"Aaaaaaand?"
"What? Everything else was true. I don't like him, I like MisterBug."
"Ugh, you humans and your complicated love stories!" He ate a slice of cheese again and slipped back into the purse as they arrived at the school.

Adrien pulled up in front of the school and got out the car. He couldn't tell if he was seeing things or not, but Marinette was walking up the steps and into the school. A little flutter built up in his chest and his face felt warm.
Gosh, what is wrong with me? I barely know her and I already feel like we're made for each other.

He walked into class and sat down beside Nino. Marinette sat right behind him, and was laughing about something. It was such a contagious laugh, but he resisted to look behind him. It would probably be too weird, right?
Adrien felt lost in his own world. Feeling her breath against his neck, their hands squeezed together, lips inching closer and closer.
"Dude!" Nino shook Adrien's shoulders, bringing him back to disappointing reality.

"Earth to Adrien!" he said again, "I've been trying to talk to you, and your head has been stuck in the clouds. What's on your mind, dude?"
"Oh, it's nothing," Adrien replied, "Just got lost in thought, I guess," he rubbed his neck in embarrassment.
"If you say so," Nino sighed.

"He seriously offered you an umbrella yesterday?" Alya raised an eyebrow, "How romantic."
"For the last time," Marinette started, "I DON'T like him like that. Not now, not ever, end of story."
"Come on, girl. Just admit that it was at least nice of him to do that after falsely accusing him."
Marinette sighed, "Okay, okay, it was nice of him to do that," she took out her phone and scrolled through pictures of MisterBug.
Luckily, Alya wasn't paying attention to her, so she wouldn't bug her about it. Each picture brought a smile to her face, forming it bigger and longer.

Why does everyone think of me and Adrien as a couple?

After class, Adrien went up to Marinette while everyone else left the room.
"H-Hey, Marinette," he said shyly.
"Oh, hey," she briefly smiled at him, "I meant to give you your umbrella back, but I guess I sort of forgot about it when I left. Sorry," Marinette looked down and frowned.
"It's fine," Adrien reassured, "You can keep it, actually. I don't mind," he smiled, hoping she wouldn't feel too bad about it. "I um, actually wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out sometime maybe?"

"Hangout?" her head perked up, almost startled. "Um, I don't know..."
"You don't have to if you don't want to," Adrien said quickly, "It's just that Nino was busy, and I've never really had any friends to hang out with besides Chloe."
"Oh! Well, I'll see if I have time," Marinette chuckled awkwardly.
Yes! I have a chance! Adrien smiled happily.
"C-Can I get your number to text you the details?" he felt a little flutter again.
"Right, of course," she put her number in his phone, and put his in hers.

Now I just have to hope she has the time. I hope she doesn't feel uncomfortable about it. Maybe this is a bad idea...
