Kai finally left Cole alone so he could rest, get his mind together and make a plan for tomorrow, assuming he will sleep until then. As for Kai, now he couldn't let go off such thoughts. He began thinking of Skylor and her answer. He was mindlessly walking out of the monastery in the court where Master Wu and Lloyd were. He didn't even notice them. He just walked past them towards the exit, but master Wu interrupted his walking and his thoughts "Your head is now in clouds as well? Where do you think of going?".

Kai stops in his track, turns to master Wu then smiles nervously at him while rubbing the back of his neck "Hahahah.. Sorry about that. I just remembered I need to get something done. Soooo, I'll be on my way.". Kai turns back again intending to walk away, but Wu stops him again "But your training is starting soon. You thought of skipping it?". Kai stops once more, standing still then slowly turns around "Oh come on, Sensei. Didn't I prove yesterday I'm trained enough?". "Sure you did, but you think it's enough to train just one day? Don't get lazy again." Wu said, somewhat losing his patience.

At that moment, Lloyd put his hand on his shoulder "Let him go this once, uncle. We still need time for our private life. If it really bothers you that much, have him train double tomorrow.". Kai gulps on what Lloyd had said. Sure, he tried to help him, but Kai also didn't want extra training tomorrow. "Hmm... Fine. I guess you're right. In that case, I'll have everyone take a break today. Nya's group got it already. It wouldn't be fair towards you, Jay and Pixal then." Wu decided, taking it easy for today as Lloyd's eyes widened "Really??".

"But you would be fools if you would think I'll give in again any time soon. I don't want you slacking off." Lloyd laughs at Wu's words then hugs him quickly "Thanks!" and goes to tell the others. Kai also feels relieved "Thanks, Sensei Wu." so he can now leave in peace, not needing to think about training for now.

Kai went straight to Chen's Noodle House, looking for a specific red-haired girl who is the owner of the place. He was looking around when suddenly, someone placed their hand on Kai's shoulder from behind. He quickly turns around facing exactly who he was looking for "Skylor!". Skylor chuckles "Hey, Kai. Came here to see me?". Kai nods and they both go to sit down.

"So what is it? Do you need help with some big mission again?" Skylor asked.

"No, it's not that. We actually got a day off so I came here to see you." Kai smiles nervously and Skylor raises an eyebrow "Oh? So you came to see me without any reason at all?". Kai gets confused because of her question "Why are you asking it like that? But to be honest, I want to talk to you about something.". Skylor sighs "I already knew it." and pours the coffee in two mugs giving one of them to Kai "What do you want to talk about?".

Kai takes the mug and holds it with both hands while looking away nervously "Well.. It's about us. You still didn't give me a clear answer.", he then looks at her to see her expression. Skylor was sitting in front of him quietly, processing what he just said and wondering if he is serious "You... are talking about our relationship, right?". Kai's eyes grew big, his smile as well, then he nods quicky. "Yeah! That. I already thou.." Before Kai could finish what he wanted to say, Skylor interrupts him "It's not what you think, Kai. I know I said I'll give you a clear answer and I guess the right time is now, as you did come here to ask me that. I just want to ask you something before I answer. What is it that you want from this relationship?" Skylor sips on her coffee while looking at Kai.

Kai blinks a few times before answering "Excuse me?".

Skylor sighs "Effort, Kai. Effort. If you want us to be together, you need to do more than just come here when you need me for something.".

"..... I still don't get it. I don't come here only when I need something. Right?" Kai slowly sips on his coffee while trying to make a sense of this.

"Didn't you notice? You come here only when you need help with saving Ninjago or when you're having problems. Sure, I don't have any problems in my life that I need to talk about, but there is more to relationships than just talking about problems. When did you ask me out for us to just hang around? To go to an amusement park for example?" She puts her mug down.

"Skylor, you already know I'm a ninja. It's my job to protect the city and with that, I need to train every day.. Mostly because Sensei Wu says so.. So I don't have much free time in my hands." Kai tries to defend himself.

Skylor shakes her head with eyes closed then looks at him with a serious expression. "There was time when no one was attacking Ninjago. For three months. And where were you?" She raises an eyebrow as she just caught him in an awkward position.

"Uhh.." Kai didn't know how to respond as he started to tap with his fingers on the mug.

"You were lazying around with your friends and playing games all day." Skylor stands up "Don't take it in a bad way, Kai. I still like you and all. I know you are busy with training at the moment, but I don't think we can be anything more than friends. Maybe some time in the future we can become something, when you settle down.". She reaches out for a handshake "Are we still friends?".

Kai had an unpleasant, sad look on his face, but he still goes to shake hands with Skylor as he smiles awkwardly at her "We're still friends". He then stands up and acts like nothing's bothering him anymore, shrugging with his hands and a relaxed smile "Well, I get it. You have your busy life, I have my busy life, we just don't have time for that. At least for now.". The red ninja smirks slightly.

Skylor chuckles at his goofy side. He started to act like his usual self again "Then, 'til the next time?".

Kai smiles slightly at her "'til the next time.". He says heading towards the exit. He waves at her and leaves the Noodle House. He puts his hands in his pockets, sighs and starts heading back to the monastery, thinking about what just happened, but not having any real thoughts about it. Well, he finally got that out of the way, or at least he thought he did. This conversation won't leave his head for some time...
