Ninjago Lava Ship - It's messed up

Red trouble

In the late morning hours, Cole was still sleeping peacefully in his bed because he had troubles falling asleep. Usually, all the ninja need to wake up early in the morning to begin the training, but for some unknown reason, they still didn't wake up Cole, and the same could be said with other ninja. However, Lloyd, Zane, Pixal, Master Wu and Misako were awake. They were on Bounty, investigating something.

"Hmm.. Lloyd, Zane, Pixal. Go wake up the others." Master Wu told them, then they nod and get off the Bounty, going into the monastery.

Zane opens Cole's door wide. "Cole, we have an emergency! Get on the Bounty as soon as possible." Zane shuts his door and goes to wake up the others. As for Cole, he jumps off of the bed by sudden loud Zane and falls on the ground. "Owhh.." He rubs his head looking towards the closed door. "What's the big deal?" He stands up, gets changed then leaves his room heading to the Bounty.

Nya, Jay, Harumi and Kai got on the Bounty at the same time when Cole did. "So what's happening that you needed to wake me up from my beauty sleep?" Kai yawns.

"Be glad we woke you up later than it was needed." Master Wu looks at Kai with sharp eyes, then turns around to face the screen. "Look." Everyone walked up closer to the screen which was showing many red dots around Ninjago.

"So? Who is attacking Ninjago this time?" Jay asks.

"That's the problem. We have no idea." Misako says.

"What??" Cole says as everyone's eyes widen. "The screen does show many enemies surrounding and walking around Ninjago, but there is no chaos showing on camera. There are no scared people, no damaged areas, nothing." Zane explains. "So what? It wouldn't be the first time the enemies would be underground." Jay says once more. "And that's another problem." Lloyd begins explaining. "I went to check Ninjago. It really is as the cameras show. Then I went underground too. There is as peaceful as it is above the ground. I went to visit Skales and even he didn't notice anything suspicious."

"It doesn't need to be a person. Could it be some kind of a tracking device or something?" Nya asks a good question, looking around while shrugging, not knowing what else it could be. But on that, Pixal just shakes her head with an upset expression. "I checked every spot where those dots are pointing at. There is no connection to any of it. Some of them are in people's houses, some in dead alleys, some even on empty streets.."

"And the best part is that.. Look." Llyod points at the screen as the dots could be seen disappearing and reappearing on different places. "It's like, whatever that is, is getting teleported or it's losing its connection at random times."

"So what do you want us to do? If you have already looked at everything and you didn't find anything, what makes you think we will?" Jay asks with crossed arms, slightly annoyed, but he was just being grumpy. "We can't know if we will find something or not, but there is more chance we get the answers with more people searching around." Wu proclaims while holding onto his staff then he hits the ground with it. "Now everyone, begin with the mission."

"Jay and Zane, look around the west area of Ninjago. Kai and Nya, you're taking the east part, Cole and Harumi the north, and Pixal and I will take the south." Lloyd says and everyone nods. "Remember, keep an eye on everything, expect unexpected and keep track on the dots, no matter how hard it can be. I believe we can do it." Everyone goes to get the vehicles and they all split up to go their way.

And of course, the trouble comes just at the right time. Not knowing what kind of trouble it is yet, but still. Cole is sarcastically thinking to himself while driving in his Rock Roader while Harumi is riding a Raider next to him.

They arrived in the northernmost part of Ninjago after few long minutes, then got out of their vehicles and started looking around. The only things which could be seen around the area were abandoned buildings and a lot of garbage. "Ugh. Why did we have to take this part? No one is even living here!" Cole starts to complain while holding onto his nose as the smell of trash is too strong. "Well people still go here to leave their trash which means it wouldn't be surprising we find something here. If you have just cleaned this part of Ninjago when we got that task, it wouldn't be like this now. And it doesn't smell worse than the dumb Nya and I had to clean." Harumi talks back to him. "Urgh.." Cole groans, not having anything to say back.

Both Cole and Harumi take out mini navigators which show where exactly the red dots are. Cole, following one of the dots, heads one way, and Harumi heads the other way following the other dot. "What do you think these red dots are?" Harumi asks Cole, searching on the ground and having her back turned to him. "I don't know. I'm not the smart one in our team. That's mostly Zane and Pixal. And they couldn't even figure out what those are." Cole answers back, also having his back turned to her.

"I see.." Harumi takes a long break before continuing the talk "Sooo.. About yesterday.. I wanted to ask..". Cole interrupts her sentence right away and turns to her "So that's why Lloyd sent you to go with me!"

"Huh.. And I thought you said yourself that you're not the bright one.." Harumi mumbles then slowly turns to face him.

"I was wondering why he didn't put you and him together for this mission. But I still can't believe he actually would do this! I mean, it's not like I'm hiding some big secret you need to know about because it might end our lives!" Cole got frustrated, forgetting why they were even there in the first place. "You know, you are actually the one who can't respect other people's privacy.."

"Look, Cole!" Harumi doesn't let him finish. "Just acting like this how you act now confirms my thoughts on what is going on. But that's not the problem right now!.." At that moment, Harumi looks on her mini navigator as the dot she was tracking disappears out of sight and appears somewhere else. "It reappeared. This way." Harumi starts to walk away fast.

"W-wait!" Cole looks at his navigator as the same thing happened with the dot he was searching for. He heads further away, the opposite way of Harumi, as they now get separated. Cole's dot led him towards one of the abandoned buildings. He glances at the window which was half-broken and half-covered with spider webs, then decides to go in through that window. He breaks the glass with his elbow as the sudden smell comes out from the inside. "Blehh.. What kind of smell is that?" He still intends to go inside as he does so..

Harumi was just about to get close to the spot where the red dot is placed on the navigator, but before she could get a chance to kick all the garbage away which was in the way, she could hear disruption in her communication earbud. "Huh? Cole, is that you?" She moves the earbud a little. "I can't hear you clearly? Did you find something?"

"R..! Mann.. rats..! Dots! Look.. .. nav..tor!" It was the only thing she could hear.

"Wha? Dots?" Harumi expands the screen on her navigator as now she can see many red dots on the same spot not so far away from her.. "Oh no.." Harumi starts running towards that place as fast as she can.

"Harumi?" Lloyd's voice can be heard from the earbud. "Harumi, what is going on? Cole got cut off from the connection. Are you there with him?"

"Not just that." Nya starts communicating into the earbud "I can't get through Jay's connection. Zane, is everything alright??"

Harumi arrived to where the broken window is. As for Zane, he got where Jay was telling him he will head to. After a few long seconds of silence, both Harumi and Zane say at the same time "He's not here.. He's gone."...
