It was a sleepless night for me. Not one of those restless nights where you are anxious, but more of one where you can not sleep because you are so excited.

I mean, why would I not be excited? Today is finally the day I get to meet the Dark Lord, and he will tell me of my task.

Since as long as I could remember, my parents have talked of Voldemort. They spoke highly of him and told me about how I would get to join him when I was older, and well, today was finally that day.

I leapt out of my bed, in my new room, which was located in my family's new home, in England. In all honesty, I do not like England all that much. It is too rainy and dull. I miss the sunshine and France, but why I am really here in England is what is important.

I instantly began to get ready for my day. The night prior, I had picked out my outfit, which was a black and white plaid skirt, with a black shirt and blazer to top it off. I also had a pair of black boots to wear, which went far up my legs.

Excitement flooded through my body as I prepared for my day, and after I was all ready, I made my way downstairs. My parents and sister were down there already.

"Morning, Vina," said Maman as I grabbed my umbrella from the little holder by the front door in the foyer.

"Good morning. Are we ready to leave?" I asked eagerly.

She nodded and also picked up her umbrella.

Today, we were heading to Wiltshire for my very first meeting with Voldemort. I could not be more excited because it was finally time.

I have dreamed of this day since before I can remember.

"Excited?" asked Papa, as if he was reading my thoughts.

"How could I not be?" I asked as he opened the door for Maman, my sister, and me.

He chuckled. "I'm glad. You are definitely ready, Vina," he replied.

I am very proud of who my family is and what life path they have raised me to take. I simply could not be more excited to fulfill whatever the Dark Lord asks of me.

It drizzled softly as we walked to the car that was parked in the circular driveway. Claire and I climbed into the back while my parents took the front seats. Soon enough though, we were driving away.

"Now remember," said Papa, "Treat the Dark Lord—"

I cut him off because I have heard this speech a thousand times at least. "With respect. He is a great wizard and deserves nothing of the less," I said. "Papa, I would do nothing less."

I could see him smile gently through the rear view mirror. "Very good. You'll do great," he said.

From then on, silence overcame us as we drove to Wiltshire. It was not a horribly long drive, though it felt long because I was so excited. I did not feel an ounce of nerves because I knew this meeting would go well.

My papa is one of the most respected followers of the Dark Lord. How could it not go well?

Throughout the entire ride, I could not sit still and when we finally pulled onto a long driveway with hedges on either side of the paved road, I sat up quickly so I could get a good image of my first meeting with the Dark Lord.

Finally, we came to a slow speed at a gate. A big 'M' emblem was in the middle of the gate and it split down the middle as it opened. A huge manor came into view as we drove through. It was dark and unwelcoming, but very big. It looked like a dark castle. Honestly, it was exactly what I would expect from the Dark Lord.
