izuku laid back on the checkered blanket he'd put on the grass, taking a few glances at katsuki eating. he took a bite of the sandwiches izuku had prepared.
"you like my sandwiches?" izuku asked. katsuki glared at him and huffed. he didn't answer. izuku hummed and stared at the sky.
it was a deep, vivid blue. there were glowing stars splattered around, and the moon was shimmering like usual.
"the sky is beautiful." izuku said. katsuki murmured something under his breath. "huh?"
katsuki, whose face was usually pale, was blossoming with colour. he looked bashful. he took a glimpse at izuku, who'd shuffled closer to him on the picnic blanket.
"shut up, it's nothing." katsuki whispered. he put his grey hood over his head. he was wearing a plain grey hoodie, baggy jeans and white trainers.
izuku was wearing something more colourful. he wore blue overalls and a beige-long-sleeved shirt underneath.
"kacchan, tell me, please." izuku pressed, putting a hand on his shoulder.katsuki shoved him off and bit his lip, like he was holding something back. izuku swallowed harshly, wondering if he did something wrong - since it was katsuki, he probably did.
katsuki and izuku both reached into the basket. their fingers brushed against each other. the taller abruptly pulled his fingers away and pouted.
"are you okay?"
no, izuku, katsuki wasn't okay. the shorter was oblivious to everything. katsuki looked at him, and stared.
"what? is there something on my face?" izuku asked, tapping all of the individual freckles on his tanned skin.
katsukis eyes darted around izukus body, but they stopped at his large, lustrous, emerald eyes, that were gleaming in the moonlight. izuku felt naked while katsuki was clearly observing him.
he always felt like that went katsuki was looking at him - like he wasn't looking at izuku, but was looking inside him. he felt his cheeks heat up. warm, ruby eyes connected with his.
just from eye contact, both boys felt like they understood eachother. izuku looked away and plucked a dandelion from the grass. he blew it in katsukis face.
"you little shit, I'll explode you." katsuki growled, though there was no real spite to his tone. izuku chuckled.
he picked up a few rose petals from the ground and tied them together, his fingers moving effortlessly to make a flower crown. he placed it on katsukis head.
izuku plucked some daisies, and tied them together to make a daisy flower crown. he smiled at katsuki, who snarled and rolled his eyes, though he though it was cute.
they both turned to the sky. admiring it.
"look, a shooting star!" izuku squealed, sitting up on his knees. he grinned widely. "let's make a wish, kacchan!"there was a gleaming diamond in the sky, which had a ring of white floating around it.
katsuki scowled at him.
"wishing on shooting stars is stupid. nothin' is gonna happen."
"but auntie-"
"you still believe that?"izuku crossed his arms and pouted. adorable. wait, no, katsuki, shut up. katsuki thought.
"make a wish, kacchan."katsuki scratched his head, thinking.
"you're taking too long." izuku whined.
"shut up."katsukis took off his hood, and his ash-blonde spiky hair swayed in the wind. his bottom lip was bruised from biting it.
"I wish..that you'll love me."
izuku stared at him in disbelief. his mouth was agape in shock. he blinked in bemusement. he opened his mouth to speak, but what would he even say? he was speechless.
katsuki was still looking at the sky, looking calm. he was not calm. he was doing somersaults in his head, wondering if izuku would reject him. wait, did he even confess? no, he didn't, shit.
izuku swallowed the lump in his throat and crawled to katsuki, leaning on his side.
"I do." izuku whispered, fiddling with his fingers. katsuki hummed, and smiled. it wasn't like his usual smile - manic and intimidating - it was warm and comforting.he put a hand in izukus hair, playing with the green curls.
"do you?" izuku asked. his eyes were teary, and his bottom lip was trembling.
"of course I do, nerd. I always have." katsuki murmured.he closed his eyes and inhaled through his nose. the air smelled of sweet jam. the sandwiches. he exhaled through his mouth.
izuku put a hand on his heart. it was beating at a rapid pace.
"what does that..make us?" izuku asked. katsuki snorted. "don't laugh at me.""I dunno, what does that make us?" katsuki asked.
"boyfriends?" izuku asked. katsuki took a glimpse at him.
"boyfriends.." he repeated. "yeah, boyfriends. I'd like that."suddenly, strong arms wrapped themselves around katsuki's neck. he fell onto his back. he looked down, about to yell at izuku, but the shorter was weeping on his chest.
"why are you crying? did I do something?" katsuki asked, tapping izukus back.
"no----no, I'm just so happy." izuku sniffled, raising his head.
"you messed up your hair. you look like shit." katsuki laughed.izuku lightly elbowed him in the gut. katsukis looked at his pink, plump lips.
"can I kiss you?" katsuki asked, already leaning closer to izukus face."huh---huh?" izuku asked. katsuki started to lean back, but izuku started frantically nodded and grabbed his face. katsuki grinned.
he leaned in, his lips brushing against izukus. the kiss was awkward - the duo had never kissed anyone before - but they found a rhythm. their lips danced together, their tongues occasionally brushing against each others.
izuku pulled back for air, red-faced and cute.
"I love you." izuku whispered into katsukis chest.
"yeah. I love you too, nerd."-
