I groan softly, and roll onto my side trying to shy away from the beam of sharp sunlight coming from my open window.
"Ah, who left de stupid curtains open? I will have pleasure in bashing their face to a pulp!" I giggle softly at my joke, knowing that I was the one to leave the curtains open.
Huffing a sigh, I climb out of bed and change clothes. I wonder what I should do to pass de time today. I don't think I have any real work to do... Perhaps I should visit Yao or Kiku?
I make my way down the hall into my kitchen and turn my coffee pot on. Waiting for the water to brew, I grab my favorite mug out of the cupboard. It's a simple tan mug with painted snow glazed along the bottom.
The pot beeps, telling me the coffee is ready, and I pour the hot liquid into my beloved mug. I take a sip and gag at the disgusting black taste.
I forgot the vodka.
I open my gray fridge and grab a bottle of vodka and pour some into my coffee. Returning it to the fridge, I take a longing sip of the dark drink and sigh with relief that it now tastes just as I like it.
Walking over to the huge window lighting up the sterile kitchen, I stare out into the endless trees and snow that I call my home. With out thought, my hand crawls up the my throat and rubs the rough scars all along my neck.
I am strong now...
I shake away my growing unease and walk back into my room, coffee still in tow. I set my coffee on my nightstand and open my closet reveiling a dozen trench coats and scarves and some miscellaneous shirts.
Aaahhh.... Which coat and scarf should I wear today? I mull over my choices, and choose to go with my light tan coat and dark brown scarf.
Dis will do for today.
I grab my coffee and walk into the huge livingroom where my house phone sits on a small metal and maple wood table. I dial Kiku's number and patiently wait for him to pick up.
"Herro?"
"Hello Kiku. It's Ivan." A smile grows on my face hearing the Japanese's small voice on the end of the phone. "Are you doing anything today?"
I await his reply, he sounds like he is contemplating whether or not to say no.
"Werl, I have a few errands to run, but other then that, I'm not doing anything. Might I ask why?"
"Ahhh good... Would you mind me coming over for lunch?"
I hear an almost inaudible choke and my smile falters for a moment. "Ah no, of course not Ivan-san! I wourd be greatry honored to have you over!"
My smile returns and I reply, "Ah good! I will see you soon den!"
I hang up before he has a chance to reply, and grab my keys off the kitchen table.
I make sure to lock the door on my way out, and walk to my van, humming lightly.
