Blonde locks cascade across golden tan skin and he walks through the deepened forest of green. It had been the evening, the sun was daring to disappear from the sky. He continued to trek through the forest, searching for any mushrooms that his cousin requested for their dinner that night.

He hoped that he wouldn't accidentally touch the poison ivy like he had done last time, thanks to his slip-up, Nagato had to spend the rest of their money so that he could get the proper medical treatment. When he finally found the mushrooms that he needed, he rushed home, he didn't want to be outside when the vampires do their monthly hunting.

...

He opened the door to their home, Nagato, His only cousin, and his only family left seemed to be prepping the table for them two to eat. Naruto placed the mushrooms down on the counter and he jumped when he noticed how hard Nagato had been glaring at him. "Did you take that route again even though I specifically told you not to?"

Naruto rubbed the back of his neck at the feeling of him being caught. "H-how did you know?" The sheepish smile he gave Nagato whenever he did something bad never seemed to change.

"You came back too early. The mushrooms that grow on the route you were supposed to be taking have grown scarce and they're harder to find" He crossed his arms and gave Naruto a disappointing look.

"Okay okay I did! But there were so many more mushrooms to pick from, plus, they were easier to find. I don't even know why you won't let me go on that stupid route anyways!" Naruto huffed and turned his nose up at Naruto.

"That's the route the princes and most of the other vampires take when they do all of their hunting. They plant all of those things there so the humans would be tempted to go onto that route and it would make it easier for them to prey on us." Naruto's face looked stunned. "You got lucky tonight. You could've been turned into one of those monsters. That's why we never go on that route!" Nagato hit him on the head, just enough to where it would hurt.

Naruto just rolled his eyes and rubbed his head. "If those bastards think that they can feed onto my blood then they have another thing comin'. I wouldn't dare let myself fall to those monsters."

Nagato sighed and grabbed the mushrooms Naruto collected, "Well, at least you collected enough to last us a month"

...

"Dear brother Sasuke, don't you think it's time you found someone to marry? Father and mother keep pestering me about it. There are so many remarkable females in our land yet you refuse all of them. Why is that brother?" Itachi entered his little brother's room. His suit made his slender form all the more attractive. Midnight black hair fell smoothly against pale skin. His hair matched perfectly with the onyx eyes he and his family seemed to all have.

He leaned against the door that seemed to be four times his height as he watched his brother put on his own suit, the Uchiha family crest stitched perfectly onto the back of it. "I don't wish to have this conversation with you again Itachi." Sasuke stoically replied to Itachi's question, not even bothering to look at him.

"Come now brother, You know that you'll never be able to possess the Sharingan unless you feed off the blood of your true love and each day your hunger for your soulmate will continue to grow until you finally feed into it. What about that Haruno girl from the neighboring land? She seems to like you a lot and our father and her father are acquaintances, so father is pushing you to marry her."

Sasuke just scoffed. "Like I would ever so much as lay a fingernail on such a stuck-up bitch. She only wants me for my status Itachi, and she's not my true love. The Sharingan doesn't work like that and you know it." Itachi gave Sasuke a sly smile.
