The next day, I decide to stay home while he hunts. I had wanted to figure out a plan for confronting my father, for real this time. Though he's not my real father, I can't help but to keep calling him that, since I don't know my real one.
I research books and scrolls that I can find about past wars, and finally, I think I've come up with a decent plan.
I wait until Blair returns, and we eat what he hunted before I clear my throat.
"I think I've figured it out." I say.
"Yeah? What do you think we should do?" He asks.
"So, it's a long process, but that's the best option. First, we need alliances, which would be the wolves. The best way to get them on our side is to reveal my power, so we should make trips to every town in the North. Though, I'm not sure about The Castle of The North, so we should leave that for last so we can find out how to make a deal with The Wolf King." I explain.
"You're... surprisingly battlesmart." He smiles.
"Years of watching my father... or, not father, prepare for wars and battles came in handy after all. Even if he's a disgusting man and a shit King, he is a war genius, I'll give him that. We've never lost in all my years, and even before that, that I'm aware of." I smile.
"So I've heard." He replies, taking our dishes outside.
When he returns, I continue, "After all of that, though, when we get all or most of the North behind us, we'll march on King's Rest. I'll take the city and unite both the North and South by destroying the Silver Throne. After that, we'll figure out who would rule."
"Why not you?" He suggests.
"Me?" I laugh, "I cannot."
"Hey. Yes you can. This plan, right here, shows that you are fit to be a Queen. I don't want to be a King, but if it means I'm by your side, I would. Unlike Fallion and King Dalen, I wouldn't take your power. I would let you rule." He vows.
My heart swells, "I know, but... I'm not sure. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. We should set off for the towns soon."
"Tomorrow morning we will." He says.
Early the next morning, wait until sunrise and set off. I packed many changes of clothes so that if I shift, I won't be bare. I'm wearing my trousers and shirt, for easier travel, and my fur cloak. We first head to the town to the far east of us, where the Darkmoon Guardian Pack resides.
As we enter the village, I realize just how many wolves live in the north. We'd always known the North was larger and more populated than the South, but the reason they never won was because they didn't have a united army. Hopefully I can change that.
"Who are you?" A stocky man with dark hair approaches us.
"We're here to speak with Alpha Ingolf." Blair replies.
"I'm his right hand beta. What's your business?" The beta asks.
Blair looks around before lowering his voice, "It's about the Heart."
The beta's expression changes to understanding, "Come with me."
We follow him through the village, if you can even call it that. It's large, and surrounded by the Northern Forest.
"I'm Beta Rex." The man introduces himself.
"I'm Blair, from the Mystic Bane Pack, this is my mate, Arie." Blair replies.
"Blair as in the Alpha that denied his right?" Rex asks.
"Yes. Though if this all plays out right, I may reclaim my position." Blair says.
