The next morning, we pack up and continue our trek to the most western village, where the Cresentmoon Pack resides. As we approach, Ingolf stops us.
"This Alpha is a good man, but a distrusting one. He will stand behind you, but it'll take a lot more convincing." He says.
We continue to the hall, and introduce ourselves.
"I'm Alpha Connor. What is your business?" The Alpha says. His skin is pale, and he has blonde hair, much like Blair's. He stands at an average height, with piercing silver eyes.
We explain everything and wait for his response. He's silent for a while, before he tilts his head, "Why should I believe you?"
"Would you like proof?" I ask.
"Not that I don't want to believe you, but yes, I'd appreciate it." He nods.
I step back, before removing my cloak and boots. I hand them off to Blair, taking a deep breath and closing my eyes, "My process is painful, because of how recent it is."
After I say that, I groan in pain as my bones begin to crack and morph, but this time, it's less painful.
I open my eyes and look up at him through my wolf. He gapes down at me, then looks at Blair, "How long?"
"The last full moon." Blair replies.
Tell him I promise to give permission to them after we handle The Alpha King. I project through our mind link.
"She says she'll give you all permission after we handle King Arric." He says the King's name, and I realize I didn't know his name until now. I scoff, but it comes out as a huff.
He looks down at me before he laughs, "She didn't know his name."
Didn't even fucking intoduce himself. Yet another shit king. I say angrily through the bond.
He chuckles, "Go shift. Here's your clothes, he hands me my bag and I take it in my mouth, walking behind a half wall in the room.
When I return, fully clothed and human, Blair gives me my boots and my cloak. As I put them on, Alpha Connor speaks, "I stand behind you."
I stand from tying my boots and look at him with respect, "Thank you."
"It's an honor. We've been praying for this for centuries." Connor bows his head.
We leave with Ingolf, and dread what will happen at the Castle. As we walk, try to rehearse what we'll say.
"And what if he doesn't agree?" I ask.
"Then we challenge him. Goddess knows you'd beat him, even if he's an Alpha, you're the Heart of The Moon. You have far more strength than he does." Blair looks at me.
"Honestly, I never liked Arric. He's a coward." Ingolf adds.
We enter the large black gates and make our way to the throne room.
"Ariella Winters. What a surprise." Arric says condescendingly.
"I've come with a request." I ignore his tone and raise my head.
"Now, you got many men killed when you ran from your betrothed." He says.
"I know, but I was protecting myself." I reply.
"And Blair," He looks at my mate, "I should have you hanged with silver coated ropes for betraying me."
"You will do no such thing. He's my mate." I reveal.
"Humans can't mate with wolves." Arric laughs.
"I'm not a human. My wolf was suppressed by my mother. King Dalen is not my true father." I say defiantly.
