Today was the day. Rhaella could feel this only too well. Today the queen would give birth to her second sibling and at the same time give the king and the kingdom a new heir, if all went well.

Rhaella walked through the corridors of the castle and every now and then servants or maids passed her on the way. In a hurry, they showed the necessary respect and bowed, before they quickly went on their way again. Rhaella suspected that this must have to do with the upcoming birth.

Finally, the contractions had already begun. Finally arrived at the room of her sister, the princess knocked and entered a little later. In the room she saw two familiar people, her sister Rhaenyra and her friend Alicent Hightower, the daughter of the Hand of the King. «Good morning Rhaenyra, good morning Alicent», spoke the princess. Alicent and Rhaenyra also greeted her  and Alicent indicated a small bow.

Rhaella never had a close relationship with the young Hightower lady, but she liked her anyway. She knew that Alicent was important to Rhaenyra, so she was important to Rhaella. «You'll be happy to know that Mother has gone into labor». Her sister and her friend were both beaming. «What wonderful news», Rhaenyra finally brought forth. The door suddenly opened and in it stood Otto Hightower, the man the princesses hated more than anything.

«Princesses»,  Otto spoke. «Daughter. Come, we have something to discuss».Otto had always been cold to his daughter. Rhaella noticed this early on and she always felt protective of her sister's friend. Alicent's expression darkened and she was about to leave when Rhaella interfered. «I think you will have no problem with Lady Alicent doing her duty and helping me and Princess Rhaenyra pick out dresses for today, won't you Lord Hand»?

«Of course not», Otto brought out through gritted teeth until he slowly backed away. Alicent smiled gratefully and enlightened at the older princess. The latter returned the look knowingly. «Now what do you two think, what dress should I wear»?....

«I do not know.. don't I look ugly in this»? «Alicent trust me you look gorgeous»! «Thank you Princess Rhaella». The princesses and lady alicent spent a whole morning deciding what to wear but overall who they think would win today's tourney. While lady Alicent was sure her brother would do great, the two targaryen's knew that without a big suprise there would only be one victor today. Their precious uncle. The rouge prince, atleast that is what the small folk calls him.

Most of the folk was either scared or jealous of the prince. He for sure had his admirers, however he did not lack enemies either. He would not be the only one to feel this. However, the princesses were sure that he would turn out to be the winner. They had seen many tournaments in their lives and never had they seen such a talented fighter as Daemon Targaryen. Atleast without counting princess Rhaella herself.

The princess would love to fight in the tournament, alongside her uncle but she was sure neither, her father nor the cepta would like that. She would get her chance to prove herself, but she would get it otherwise. She would not risk her status and her relationships for a silly tournament.

Rhaella herself wore a pretty dress, which had to be in Targaryen colours because she needed to pay the respect. She was proud to be a Targaryen but she loved other colours on herself, too.

«You look wonderful»! Rhaella's sister spoke. Embarrassed, Rhaella smiled, thank you sister. «Now let's go, we must hurry», spoke Rhaenyra, taking Rhaella's arm at one side and Alicent's at the other. Rhaella felt her sister's grip, Strong and gentle at the same time and smiled. «Nyra»! And so the siblings ran off, along with Alicent, to their unborn brother's tournament.
