Kakashi Hatake can admit to himself that he has been failing to give you the attention that most husbands would give their wives.
While the two of you have been married for a few months now, you haven't gotten the chance to go on a honeymoon or do much of anything romantic since the short ceremony because of his job as Hokage. You always seem to be fine with it, at least on the surface.
When Kakashi makes the dreaded call that he has to stay late, you tell him that you love him and that dinner will be in the fridge. When he has meetings in the morning that he has to go to instead of staying in bed and holding you or making you breakfast, you wake up early with him to make sure he has a meal to take to work, even sending him off with good wishes and a kiss. You have handled his stressful and time-consuming position as Hokage with grace and kindness, just as you tend to handle most things... Which is part of why he married you in the first place.
Kakashi tries to make up for his frequent absence when he is able to see you; late at night after he comes home, early in the morning before he leaves, and the occasional lunch together when things are calm. He loves you dearly, buys you everything you could ever want with his substantial salary, and ravishes you in the bedroom when he's not too exhausted, but he knows it's not enough. It's not as much as you deserve. The fact that you put up with it at all is amazing, almost too good to be true...
Definitely too good to be true, actually. Kakashi can't help but think that as he leans against the wall of the ballroom he's in, his advisors talking his ears off. He's at this stupid function that the stupid council made him come to for raising stupid donations for the stupid ninja academy. His face remains calm and collected underneath his mask and he pretends he's listening intently, but he's not. His eyes are on you where you are across the room, one of your arms over Ebisu's shoulders.
Ebisu has had a crush on you since all of you were children. You've always made your disinterest quite clear, and Kakashi knows you would never stray. You're too loyal. However, Kakashi is well aware that you have your ways of letting him know when you're not getting enough attention in the bedroom, this being one of them.
You like to make him jealous when his job causes your sex lives to be particularly barren, and it works every time. Despite the anger it causes, he gets off on it perhaps even more than you do in the end, even if the initial feeling is unpleasant.
And Gods, unpleasant it most certainly is. Watching you sweet talk Ebisu with your beautiful smile and those (e/c) fuck-me eyes looking at that closet-pervert instead of at Kakashi, who's practically staring holes into you. Listening to your laugh as you pretend to care about whatever it is Ebisu is rambling about. Seeing how Ebisu looks at you like you hold the entire world in your hands even though you're a married woman, looking at you like how Kakashi knows he himself looks at you. Flushing bright red when, the moment Ebisu looks away, you shoot a sultry look and a knowing smirk in Kakashi's direction.
It burns him good. All of it.
Kakashi knows what you want; rough sex, dirty talk, a completely indulgent rendezvous with just the two of you- a punishment, as he would frequently call it any other time you'd act out. This, however, is different. You allow yourself to be pulled along to the dancefloor by Ebisu and Kakashi almost loses it. Everyone else in the room sees two old friends- two good coworkers- platonically dancing together and catching up, but he knows what you're doing and it's driving him up the wall.
So, he decides that this time, he'll have to come up with something new for you. Something unexpected. Something that will make you just as frustrated with him as you've chosen to make him with you and Ebisu.
