💖Nightmares- Jaehyun

Nighttime is usually a time most people cherish. The peace of a quiet night allowing for a peaceful and relaxing sleep is something people yearn for. Despite the chaos of the members of NCT, at night, the dorm was silent as all the members enjoyed the only time they get to rest.

Well, almost all of them.

Unfortunately for jaehyun, nighttime was quite the opposite of peaceful.

For a long time, jaehyun has suffered from a range of sleeping problems, when he was young he had frequent nightmares almost every night along with anxiety attacks during the nighttime. As he aged, he seemed to grow out of it for awhile only occasionally awakening in a cold sweat or jolting out of bed from a frightening dream. Most nights he laid in bed on his phone until his brain shut off and he fell asleep due to exhaustion. It wasn't healthy of course but he managed himself well enough.

Until he noticed that those night terrors from his childhood started returning and became much more frequent than they had been. At first he blamed stress, figuring that a heavy workload and busy lifestyle is what caused them, but he found that even when he wasn't busy the nightmares still occurred and seemed to get worse each night.

Now jaehyun suffers from a nightmare every night, and tonight was no exception.

Luckily nobody ever seemed to hear him when he would cry out in his sleep or his breathing would become heavy once he woke up. He did have some times where he really wanted to go get someone, anyone who could help ground him a little bit but he decided that he'd rather have a rough night than bother one of his members while they were sleeping.

This nightmare was similar to the ones of his youth, his brain muddled with a blur of several of his fears, irrational ones and rational ones.

He was walking around a dark empty space, nothing in sight but a slight dripping sound coming from somewhere. He walked around calling out for someone trying to familiarize himself with the surroundings.

The drip sound echoed from around him, an uneasiness washing over him as he kept walking.

Suddenly, he looked down and saw his feet were in a thin layer of water, his shoes blurry under the surface. As he continued walking, the water got higher, rapidly rising to his knees, then his waist, the dripping sound getting louder.

He started to panic trying to see a way out, his body shivering in the cold dark water.

The water rose to his shoulders, and now he couldn't see anything at all. It was pitch black and he had no sense of direction. The water gurgled around him as it swallowed him up, his body almost completely submerged in the icy water.

Just as he sucked in a big breath in order to prepare for his head to be submerged, he felt something grab his ankle harshly and yank him beneath the surface.

Next all he felt was water rushing into his lungs and the sharp stabbing pain of something sinking it's teeth into his calf. He felt a warmth around him as his blood filled the water around him.

He screamed, more water entering his mouth and filling his lungs. He felt his life fading as he used any strength he had left thrashing around the water, trying to find a way out.

He heard a ripping sound and then it went dead silent. The water was still.

Jaehyun closed his eyes accepting his demise as the water slowly drained.
