After the twins had calmed down from their bickering and teasing, Leon had lifted Ashley over a ledge where she needed to unlock the door from the other side. M/N watched as his sister jumped down from the ledge and jogged towards the door, unlocking it, "okay!" Ashley exclaimed, smiling at the two men. The two walked towards her as Leon walked between the crack in the wall that led to somewhere else. The twins followed.

"Looks like we can continue on this way." Leon told them as they ran down a dark hall.

"Be careful." Ashley whispered, her voice wavering from fright. Leon shined his light into the dark room, M/N covered his nose and mouth from the stench of the rotting corpses that hung on doors. The twins jumped at the sound of something growling in the dark. M/N maneuvered his way towards one of the corners of the room that had a desk as Leon looked for more supplies and bullets. Ashley never left her brother's side. The young man looked at the desk, finding a note book laying sprawled out for the whole world to read.

'I was awoken in the middle of the night once again. It's those awful noises coming from the basement: the sound of nails clawing at the stone walls and the withering moan of cursed.

That man harbors enough hate to ruin this world.

He once served the Lord of the castle as the torturer, like his father and grandfather before him. It's one of the more unsightly legacies left by the Salazar family.

Even among his family, he was "special". He enjoyed his work wholeheartedly and had a talent for it. He was gifted at tormenting others.

His ability soon attracted the master's interest. And when he took him to the dungeon -- no, I can't write anymore. I won't. I don't want to recall what happened down there.

My mind can't take it. It will break me.

I was ordered to attend to him: to feed him. Dispose of the filth -- all while listening to that wretched voice every night.

I can't take it anymore. I've had enough. I will not tolerate one more night in this castle. I shall leave tomorrow. Go far away, where that voice cannot reach my ears.'

M/N grimaced, putting the journal down, regretting his decision to read the 'Caretaker's' writing. Ashley also had read the journal entry, her eyes not that well trained in the dark, but it was easy to guess exactly what this person was doing. Leon passed the two, going to another room. Ashley and M/N followed him to the room, Ashley holding onto her brother more tightly as they heard roaring and chains rattling from beyond the darkness.

"Ah! What was that? Do they keep animals down here or something?" Ashley asked.

"One big fucking animal then," M/N said. He didn't know if he was terrified or irritated that it seemed the trio couldn't catch a break with these freaks. Leon continued walking in front of them, coming to an open door. He walked in as the twins waited for him, watching as he picked up the key. He turned towards the two, holding the key up, taking a step forward before the floor caved beneath his feet. "Leon!" M/N exclaimed. M/N grabbed his sister's hand and dragged her to the main room they had just been in, the younger man's face filled with worry.

Ashley was terrified that something had happened to Leon. No one could survive that fall without a possible injury. So there they were, waiting for the man that was supposed to save them from this hell hole.
