We head to March of last year for a game between Colgate and Yale in the first round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament and this would be a back and forth affair. Mitch Benson and Nathan Reid matched zeros in the first period so, no score after one period of play at Riggs Rink. With 8:27 left in the second period, Colton Young scored to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 3:04 left in the second period, Reilly Connors scored to tie the game 1-1. With 52.4 seconds left in the second period, Colton Young scored on the power play to make it 2-1 Colgate. Benson and Reid matched zeros for the remainder of the period so, Colgate maintains their 2-1 lead heading to period number three. With 8.4 seconds left in the third period, Teddy Wooding scored to tie the game 2-2. Benson and Reid matched zeros for the remainder of regulation so, 2-2 we stand after regulation time and we'll play extra postseason hockey here this evening! With 3:08 left in overtime, Josh McKechney scored to win the game for the Hamiltonians 3-2!
